Las Vegas, Cheyenne, Green Valley post wins

Host Las Vegas High, Cheyenne and Green Valley posted victories in the opening round of the 32-team Las Vegas Prep Championship boys basketball tournament Wednesday.
Las Vegas downed Wellington, Canada 71-42 behind 17 points by Zach Queen, Cheyenne handled Temecula Valley, Calif., as Johnny Wheeler and Keith Richardson combined for 29 points and Green Valley routed Granada Hills, Calif., 75-45 behind Mitch Platt's 19 points.
In other games involving local schools, McQueen topped Valley 74-63, Marana, Ariz., whipped Cimarron-Memorial 77-55, Castlemont, Calif., topped Rancho 63-58 and Martin Luther King of California beat Western 83-70.
The tournament runs through Saturday.
