Because of an error by the Sun, a statement by Gov. Kenny Guinn was misconstrued in a story Monday on the cover of the Metro section. In discussing the need for his task force that is studying ways to broaden the base for state revenues, Guinn actually said the gaming industry now supplies a major share of the state's budget by paying property taxes as well as a 6.25 percent gross gaming tax. The Sun regrets the error.
