Conference set on Attachment Disorder

A conference on the diagnosis and treatment of Attachment Disorder is planned for Jan. 7-8 at UNLV.

The conference will feature four experts in the field.

To register, call (303) 674-1910 or e-mail forrest@attachmentcenter.org. For information on local support groups, call 454-2700.

Student participants sought for contest

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is requesting the help of students in kindergarten through high school to participate in the 2002 Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Contest.

The entries must be hand-drawn, not computer generated, of live North American ducks, geese or swans. The entries will be judged in each state and the Nevada Best of Show is selected from the 12 first place entries. The winner of that contest will have their artwork in the National Federal Junior Duck Stamp Contest, going against the winners of the other state's Best of Shows.

The school of the Best of Show winner will receive a $100 art supplies certificate from the Outdoor Channel. The first place winner of the national contest will receive a $2,500 cash award and a free trip to Washington, D.C., in the fall to attend the judging of the adult Federal Duck Stamp Contest. The winning stamp design will be the 2001 Junior Duck Stamp that may be reproduced on cards, calenders and other souvenir items.
