BRIDGEPORT, Ind. -- The Caesars Indiana riverboat casino has exceeded analysts' revenue and admissions expectations since the opening of its new hotel in late August.
The Harrison County casino exceeded $20 million in monthly revenue for the first time in November, and posted a record 518,409 admissions.
Attendance and revenues were expected to jump after the $62 million, 503-room hotel and other amenities were completed.
But the actual gains were far greater than expected, said Ed Feigenbaum, publisher of Indiana Gaming Insight, an industry newsletter.
Caesars' November revenues of $20.3 million represented an increase of nearly 36 percent over the November 2000 take of $14.9 million, The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., reported Tuesday.
Admissions were up more than 39 percent from the 371,384 recorded during the same month a year ago. Caesars' previous records -- achieved in September -- were $19.5 million in revenue and 488,872 admissions.
