A company that provides call-center services to banks, telecommunications, energy and direct-marketing companies is moving its headquarters to Las Vegas.
Encompass TeleServices, Beaverton, Ore., will open a 12,000-square-foot call center and headquarters next month on South Pearl Street, near Sunset and Pecos roads. By March, the company expects the center will employ more than 300 people with more than 350 on the payroll by the end of the year.
Chief Executive Officer John Cargal said Las Vegas offers an attractive location for the three-year-old company.
"It's a lot easier for me to ask a client to come to Las Vegas for a meeting than to Beaverton," Cargal said, adding that the availability of affordable air service and an abundance of hotels contributed to the decision.
Among the company's clients are Scottish Power, parent company of Utah Power and Pacific Power & Light.
