LV firm settling with Illinois
Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001 | 11:17 a.m.
A Las Vegas company, accused by Illinois officials last week of consumer fraud for selling a device that was supposedly capable of detecting anthrax, said this morning it has settled the case.
TRSG Corp., which does business as the Right Solution and Gateway Distributors Ltd., said it agreed to pay $1,000 to the state of Illinois to settle a civil consumer fraud lawsuit. The company did not admit wrongdoing.
Lori Bolas, spokeswoman for the Illinois attorney general's office, said the proposed settlement would also ban the company from claiming the device could detect anthrax without scientific proof. TRSG says it no longer sells the device.
