Louis S. Akison
Louis S. Akison, 58, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 2, 1943, in Hobbs, N.M. A resident for 43 years, he was a laborer.
He is survived by two sons, Anthony Foger of Carson City and Rodney Gilmore of Las Vegas; his parents, Nolen and Julia Akison of Las Vegas; four brothers, Louis Carr Jr. and James Long, both of North Las Vegas, Joe Michael of Hobbs and Greg of Dallas; two sisters, Brenda Brewer of Dallas and Carolyn Carr of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Wednesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.
James Allison
James Allison, 77, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. A superintendent, he was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Sacramento.
He is survived by one son, James V. Allison of Las Vegas; two daughters, Sherry Smith of Bakersfield, Calif., and Bobbie Parker; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will be private. Services will be in Bakersfield. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Gene Brantley
Gene Brantley, 69, of Valdosta, Ga., died Thursday in Valdosta. A former Las Vegas resident, she was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Denton, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Tex Brantley of Valdosta; five daughters, Donna Gilley of Tallahassee, Fla., Sheryl Boinski and Rhonda Brantley, both of Valdosta, Linda Melin of Merritt Island, Fla., and Joy Brakel of Caribou, Maine; one brother, Ralph Alsup Jr. of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson.
No local services are scheduled. Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta, is handling arrangements.
Billy G. Bryan
Billy G. Bryan, 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born March 3, 1933, in Waynesville, Mo. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired Navy officer and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in North Las Vegas.
He is survived by one daughter, Christine Baker of Las Vegas; two sons, Billy Bryan of Las Vegas and Stephen Bryan of North Las Vegas; one brother, Alvin Caquelard of Tifton, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Larry Allen Buth
Larry Allen Buth, 39, of Port Lavaca, Texas, died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 29, 1962, in Minnesota. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a firefighter and EMT worker and a volunteer firefighter with the Liberty Chapel Fire Department in Cleburne, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Norton Buth; two daughters, Katrina Buth and Amanda Buth, and one son, Travis Buth, all of Port Lavaca; his father, Marvin Buth of Nebraska; his mother, Joyce Haley Buth of Nevada; and three sisters, Laurie Storey, Lisa Buth and LeAnn Buth, all of Las Vegas.
No local services are scheduled. Richardson Funeral Home, Port Lavaca, is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Port Lavaca Fire Department or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 771, Port Lavaca, TX 77979.
Richard Charles Cobb
Richard Charles Cobb, 85, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1916, in New York. A resident for eight years, he was a retired tool and die maker for a utility company and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Diane Cobb-Lien of Cullman, Ala., and Andrea Sweet-Gunsolus of Las Vegas; one son, William Cobb of Harbor City, Calif.; two sisters, Helen Hart of Fairport, N.Y., and Norma Meyers of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one brother, William George Cobb of Fairport; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Thomas William Robert Collins
Thomas William Robert Collins, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1919, in Bournemouth, United Kingdom. A resident for 15 years, he was chief of security at conventions, a veteran of the British Royal Navy during World War II and a member of the Las Vegas Council of the U.S. Navy League.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Norah Marie; three daughters, Mauri Collins of Rochester, N.Y., and Sparrow Joe and Sarah E. Collins, both of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 5 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Gaetano P. Fabrizio
Gaetano P. Fabrizio, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Connecticut. A resident for 13 years, he was a construction business owner.
He is survived by two daughters, Janet B. Deering of Port St. Lucie, Fla,. and Jeanne C. Janz of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Vincent Fabrizio and Walter Fabrizio, both of Norwalk, Conn.; one sister, Shirley O'Marra of Danbury, Conn.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Connecticut. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Everett James Foster
Everett James Foster, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 16, 1926, in Pennylvania. A resident for 10 years, he was an engineer for Douglas Aircraft Missile Division and a member of American Radio Relay League.
He is survived by his wife, Dallas.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Dennis M. Granada
Dennis M. Granada, 36, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born June 10, 1965, in the Philippines. A resident for six years, he was a supervisor at Krispy Kreme Donut Shop.
He is survived by his wife, Shannon M.; one son, Jacob Tyler Granada, and his father, Ted Granada, both of Las Vegas; three sisters; and three brothers.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Leon Hardison Sr.
Leon Hardison Sr., 58, of Las Vegas died Dec. 10 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 3, 1943, in Earle, Ark. A resident for many years, he was a warden for the state of Nevada and a fight inspector for the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Hardison-Holmes of Arizona and Jill Ingram of Las Vegas; two sons, Leon Hardison Jr. and Gregory Harris, five brothers, Hythenizl Hardison, Otto Hardison, Willie Hardison, Franklin Hardison and Michael Hardison, and one sister, Vascola Scott, all of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 2 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.
Geneva Lou Heins
Geneva Lou Heins, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born June 9, 1924, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Leigh Abresch of San Francisco; one sister, Margie T. Kurre of Clearwater, Fla.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 9-11:30 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Evelyn Alice Hively
Evelyn Alice Hively, 90, of Boulder City died Saturday in Boulder City. She was born June 20, 1911, in Beaver, Okla. A resident for 26 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Amos William; one son, George Ridley of Valley Center, Calif.; three daughters, Elaine Ridley Havens of San Antonio, Peggy Hively Warner of Lewistown, Pa., and Lynda Hively Bernoth of Queensland, Australia; one sister, Berta Lee McClung of Paradise, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

James W. Kennedy
James W. Kennedy, 78, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born June 11, 1923, in Marysvale, Utah. A resident for 60 years, he was a retired mason, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Erva; one daughter, Katherine Truman of Las Vegas; three sons, Robert Kennedy of Henderson, Stephen Kennedy of Las Vegas and David Kennedy of Murrieta, Calif.; one sister, Helen Hebert of Las Vegas; four brothers, Vernon Kennedy of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Craig Kennedy, Fred Kennedy and Darrell Kennedy, all of Las Vegas; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 10 a.m. service Thursday in the LDS Pennwood Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Bonnie J. Markey, 53, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born May 26, 1948, in Long Beach, Calif. A resident for 12 years, she was a computer operator.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley C. Robinson; and one sister, Ginger Breedlove.

Thomas Francis Mercadante
Thomas Francis Mercadante, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 3, 1929, in New Jersey. A resident for four years, he was a truck driver, Korean War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Angela; two sons, Guy and Daniel, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Roseann Neu of New Jersey; two sisters, Roseann Weaver and Mildred Vedutis, both of New Jersey; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3 p.m. until a 5 p.m. service today in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Peter Seth Meredith
Peter Seth Meredith, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 22, 1927, in Western Samoa. A resident for 45 years, he was a security officer.
He is survived by his wife, Leona M.; one son; three daughters; two sisters; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mildred B. Oberle
Mildred B. Oberle, 88, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 19, 1913, in Whitefish, Mont. A resident for 13 years, she was a retired aircraft supervisor, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Las Vegas Bridge Center.
She is survived by her husband, Edward J.; and one brother, A.F. Garnsey of Tacoma, Wash.
Visitation is scheduled 8-9:45 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will follow at 10:40 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Barbara Ann Ogden, 63, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospice. She was born May 30, 1938, in Los Angeles. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Robert A.; six daughters, Laurel Senko of Claremont, Calif., Janet Young of Las Vegas, Cheryl Wootten of Stratford, Okla., Kathleen Taney and Linda Seebold, both of Henderson, and Peggy Kelley of Sanger, Calif.; one son, David Ogden of Henderson; her father, Roland Jarrett of Los Angeles; one brother, Robert Jarrett of Newbury Park, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Paul John Reszler Jr., 68, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Trenton, N.J. A resident for 25 years, he was a carpenter, an Army veteran and a member of Carpenters Local 89.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; one son, Scott Reszler; two daughters, Deborah Cowan and Paula Smith; two brothers, Ronald and Robert; six grandchildren and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa; one daughter, Monica Rodriguez of Vacaville, Calif.; one son, Charles Russell of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two brothers, Dennis Russell of Aurora, Calif., and Robert T. Russell of Virginia; and two grandchildren.

Amedeo Scalzitti, 96, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born May 5, 1905, in Italy. A resident for six years, he was a retired maintenance worker.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; two sons, John Scalzitti and Joe Scala, and one daughter, Arlene Drezner, all of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ben; one daughter, Susan Schooley of Fallston, Md.; two sons, Steven Schooley of Cypress, Calif., and Stacey Schooley; and three grandchildren.

Jean E. Sellers
Jean E. Sellers, 81, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 9, 1920, in Saskatchewan. A resident for 51 years, she was a retired Shell gas station owner-operator in Henderson for many years, a retired Aladdin hotel employee and a member of the Eastern Star Southgate Chapter 18.
She is survived by two sons, John Sellers of Parowan, Utah, and Albert Sellers of Henderson; two daughters, Donna Sellers Lattin of Henderson and Kathleen Swett of Reno; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by her husband, Lorenzo; two sons, Antoine Williams and Robert Williams, and two daughters, Andrea Whitlock and Natasha Rivers, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Elizabeth Blakely; six sisters, Cassandra Williams, Althea Williams and Samantha Piccola, all of Ohio, Olive Lashley of California and Dawn Williams and Charla Carter, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Samuel Williams of Winston, W.Va., and Tyrone Williams of Cleveland; and seven grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Glen Saylor of London, Ohio; one daughter, Wanda Brown of Henderson; one sister, Josephine Bickford of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; two daughters, Penny Villarreal of Las Vegas and Terri Ann Meyers of Lapeer, Mich.; one sister, Barbara Finkel of Pontiac, Mich.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Donald E. Walker, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1930, in Everett, Wash. A resident for three years, he was a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Wayne Walker of Plano, Texas, Anthony Walker of Yakima, Wash.; one daughter, Lori Walker of Frisco, Texas; and four grandchildren.
