Perkins takes last race of year at LVMS

Cody Perkins won the last race of the year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Perkins, participating in the Junior Dragster Holiday Classic at The Strip at LVMS, ran 9.960-sec./55.23 mph to defeat Amie Thompson.
Jenna Thompson of Wildomar, Calif., defeated first-timer Kyle Glenn of Kingman, Ariz., for junior 8-9 honors. Travis Cherry of Bakersfield, Calif., defeated Matthew Fischle of Twin Peaks, Calif., for the 10-12 title.
Kenny Bullard of Anaheim, Calif., won the 13-14 final over Hemet, California's Eddie Woods.
The 2002 Junior Dragster season at The Strip will open Jan. 26-27.
