Barbara Ann Bailey-Spinner
Barbara Ann Bailey-Spinner, 52, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 21, 1949, in Kansas City, Kan. A resident for 11 years, she was a computer consultant for an Internet services company.
She is survived by her husband, Wesley F.; one daughter, Christine Teeter of Blue Springs, Mo.; two sons, Scott Holbert and Wesley Spinner II, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is private. Services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
J. Floyd Browning Jr.
J. Floyd Browning Jr., 49, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 22, 1952, in Tampa, Fla. A resident for 11 years, he was a security officer for a sign company and a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his mother, Marion Taylor of Bush, La.; one brother, Walter Browning of Hammond, La.; and two sisters, Sabrina Martin of Slidell, La., and Janet Punch of Covington, La.
Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.
Betty J. Crippen
Betty J. Crippen, 76, of Boulder City died Friday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 5, 1925, in Stockton, Calif. A resident for eight years, she was a secretary.
She is survived by two sons, Billy Crippen of Las Vegas and Edward Crippen of Boulder City; one daughter, Diane Diehl of Hawaii; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
Shirley J. Ellis
Shirley J. Ellis, 67, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Champagne, Ill. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Ellis of Las Vegas; two daughters, Dawn Nelson of Monument, Colo., and Candy Mason of Granada Hills, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at 101 N. Luna Way in the clubhouse at Spring Oaks III. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Angelo M. Giammarino
Angelo M. Giammarino, 85, of Henderson died Friday in a local care center. He was born May 8, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, he was a truck driver.
He is survived by two sons, Robert Giammarino and Anthony Giammarino, both of Henderson; and three grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 2-3 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services followed in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Dr. Morton Jacobs
Dr. Morton Jacobs, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 22, 1929, in the Bronx, N.Y. A resident for eight years, he was a retired chiropractor and a Korean War Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Catharine; one daughter, Yesenia Jacobs of Las Vegas; two sisters, Myrna Zonis of Boca Raton, Fla., and Norma Shub of Philadelphia; and three brothers, Julius Jacobs, Israel Jacobs and Carl Jacobs, all of New York state.
A memorial service was scheduled at 11 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Jean A. Jenkins
Jean A. Jenkins, 66, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 9, 1935, in Los Angeles. A resident for four years, she was a retired aircraft inspector.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald; five sons, John Cookson of Torrance, Calif., Donald Cookson of Bellflower, Calif., Patrick Cookson of Mesquite, Michael Cookson of Las Vegas and Daniel Jenkins of Redondo Beach, Calif.; one brother, Paul Spearman of San Pedro, Calif.; one stepsister, Dorothy Mae Rae of Chula Vista, Calif.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Justine A. Kiser
Justine A. Kiser, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Lebanon, Ky. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired cosmetics clerk.
She is survived by her husband, William; two sons, James Preus of Las Vegas and Charles Preus of Marysville, Calif.;'one daughter, Nancy Leech of Meadville, Pa.; one brother, Victor Mudd of Jacksonville, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Francisco Olivas
Francisco Olivas, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1947, in Colonia Hernandez, Mexico. A resident for three years, he was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Romelia Mendoza De Olivas of Nuevo Casas Grande, Mexico; three sons, Francisco Olivas and Rafael Olivas, both of Las Vegas, and Rigoberto Olivas of Nuevo Casas Grande; two daughters, Argelia Olivas of Tucson and Sandra Olivas of Nuevo Casas Grande; four brothers, Gillermo Olivas, Antonio Olivas and Virgilio Olivas, all of Nuevo Casas Grande and Carlos Olivas of New Uteh, Minn.; two sisters, Guadalupe Olivas and Martha Beatriez Olivas, both of Nuevo Casas Grande; and nine grandchildren.
Interment will be in Chihuahua, Mexico. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.
Esther Verna Tyler
Esther Verna Tyler, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 25, 1945, in Woodsville, N.H. A resident for 12 years, she was a change person in the gaming industry, a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 10047 in Las Vegas, American Legion Auxiliary Post 20 in Woodsville and was an alumna of Haverhill Academy.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne H.; one daughter, Sonya L. Smith, one sister, Linda J. Carle, one brother, Willis G. Applebee, and her father, Willis A. Applebee, all of North Haverhill, N.H.; and three grandsons.
Visitation is scheduled 1-4 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Jasmine Marie Vasquez
Jasmine Marie Vasquez, 2, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 4, 1999, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her parents, Juan and Dorothea Vasquez, and two brothers, Juan Vasquez and Christian Vasquez, all of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Diane Lazaro of Albany, Ore., and Luis and Concepcion Vasquez of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
