Frederick Don Anderson

Frederick Don Anderson, 44, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born June 29, 1957, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 35 years, he was a service manager in fire protection for Norstan Communications and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; one son, Derick Anderson, one stepson, Roland Moran Jr., two stepdaughters, Victoria Moran and Brittany Moran, his mother, Ruby Lee Brass, and one brother, Daryl Anderson, all of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Jacqueline Juarez of Utah and Marinetta Anderson of Las Vegas.

A memorial service was scheduled at 3 p.m. today in College Park Baptist Church, 2101 E. Owens Ave., North Las Vegas. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

Ned T. Barnes

Ned T. Barnes, 68, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born March 5, 1933, in Clarendon, Texas. A resident for 20 years, he was an insurance agent and realtor and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; one brother, Bert C. Barns of Farmington, N.M.; and two sisters, Jewel Kolb of Raton, N.M., and Delia Carter of Sequin, Texas.

American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Maxine Coble

Maxine Coble, 80, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1920, in Oklahoma. A resident for 43 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Dixie Cate and Becky Wharton, both of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Larry J. Costanza

Larry J. Costanza, 58, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 1, 1943, in New Jersey. A resident for 35 years, he was a truck driver.

He is survived by his mother, Enes Costanza, and two brothers, Anthony Costanza and Louis Costanza, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Maria Weiss of Phoenix.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Kathleen R. Duel

Kathleen R. Duel, 54, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 3, 1947, in Las Vegas. She was born June 5, 1947, in Hillsboro, Wis. A resident for several years, she was a bartender.

She is survived by five sisters, Patricia Gesler, Karen Oakes and Sheila Harris, all of New Lisbon, Wis., Lisa M. Braund of Elroy, Wis., and Shawn Harris of Schiedam, Netherlands; two brothers, John Harris of New Lisbon and James Harris of Elroy; and her companion, Tony Carkido of Las Vegas.

Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Lorin Edgar Gassaway

Lorin Edgar Gassaway, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 19, 1928, in California. A resident for 10 years, he was a freight company shop supervisor, a World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion, Teamsters and Machinists Union.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two sons, Charles Joseph Philebar and William Gassaway; six daughters, Linda Ploner, Lori Hostetter, Launie Allomong, Virginia Suval, Desri Granda and Lorene Philebar; one sister, his twin, Viola Fisher; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Debbie Matson Gikas

Debbie Matson Gikas, 40, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born May 3, 1961, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a gift shop saleswoman.

She is survived by her husband, Peter; one daughter, Angeline Gikas; and two brothers, Robert Matson and Gerald Matson.

James E. Kinkead

James E. Kinkead, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born June 15, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo. A resident for 33 years, he was a finance and business consultant and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one son, Gregory S. Kinkead of Las Vegas; and one sister, Mrs. J.W. Kelly of Springfield, Mo.

Carla Antrice McCall

Carla Antrice McCall, 31, of North Las Vegas died Nov. 28 in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 10, 1970, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by one son, Asryan McCall; one daughter, Antonia McCall; and her father, Eddie McCall of Albuquerque.

Visitation is scheduled 1-4 p.m. Saturday with a 3 p.m. service in Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive. Burial will be private.

Dr. Thomas McCormick

Dr. Thomas McCormick, 56, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 14, 1945, in Chicago. A resident for 20 years, he was a surgeon.

He is survived by his wife, Tracy; two sons, Michael McCormick and Colin McCormick, and one daughter, Morgan McCormick, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert McCormick Jr. of Chicago; and two sisters, Patricia Parker of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., and Ann Zingheim of Crossville, Tenn.

Karen Joy Oster

Karen Joy Oster, 65, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born April 1, 1936, in Duluth, Minn. A resident for eight years, she was a lead for retail stores in local hotels.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Sr.; two sons, Michael Oster Jr. and Keith Wilkinson; three brothers, Larry Adette, Dale Adette and Beryl Adette; and two grandchildren.

Gilbert Peloquin

Gilbert Peloquin, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 18, 1918, in Cambridge, Mass. A resident for 14 years, he was a bookkeeper and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Walter Peloquin of Las Vegas.

Cecelia A. Simmet

Cecelia A. Simmet, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Nov. 22, 1926, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for two years, she was a retired executive secretary for an architectural engineering firm.

She is survived by three brothers, John Tronolone, Francis Tronolone and Anthony Tronolone, all of Buffalo; and five sisters, Teresa Savage and Sister M. Catherine Tronolone, both of Buffalo, Agnes Gardner of Laguna Vista, Texas, Dolores Calabotta of Escondido, Calif., and Veronica Webdale of Port Orange, Fla.

Services will be 4 p.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Charles Randy Sudbury

Charles Randy Sudbury, 58, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 18, 1943, in Utah. A resident for 35 years, he was a Metro Police officer and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Ryan Sudbury and Jonathan Sudbury, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Stacey Taylor of Bellingham, Wash.; and four grandchildren.

Byron I. Swalley

Byron I. Swalley, 64, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 10, 1937, in East St. Louis, Ill. A resident for 25 years, he was a dealer at the Horseshoe and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; two sons, Mitchell Swalley of Las Vegas and Curtis Swalley of Hanau Army Base, Germany; two daughters, Kimberly Brown of Henderson and Patricia Martinez of Watertown, N.Y.; his parents, Moody and Carrie Swalley of Fairview Heights, Ill.; four brothers, Robert Swalley of Springfield, Richard Swalley of Santee, Calif., David Swalley of Memphis, Tenn., and Charles Swalley of St. Louis; six sisters, Stephanie Brown of Bullhead City, Ariz., Sandy Parker of Chicago, Kathleen Schade and Becky Boillat, both of St. Louis, Carol Johnson of Millstadt, Ill., and Donna Murren of Tehachapi, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

John St. Clair Talbutt

John St. Clair Talbutt, 68, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 24, 1933, in New York City. A resident for 49 years, he was a retired engineer in the special weapons department of Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque and at the Nevada Test Site for 36 years, a Korean War Navy veteran, attended the University of Arkansas, involved with Little League Baseball, POP Warner Football, the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls and was a recipient of the Grand Cross of Color.

He is survived by his wife, Dee Stinson Talbutt; one son, Brad S. Talbutt of Boise, Idaho; one daughter, Cynthia Talbot of Las Vegas; his mother, Emily Patton of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Valerie Womack of Las Cruces, N.M.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Angle Y. Tanney

Angle Y. Tanney, 77, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 3, 1924, in Kansas. A resident for 20 years, she was a civil service key punch operator.

She is survived by five daughters, Sheran Brown, Deborah Hawley and Callie Tanney, all of Las Vegas, Marilyn Colpitts of Melbourne, Fla., and Kathleen Krawczyk of Westfield, Mass.; her mother, AnnaMae Hudgens of Rialto, Calif.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Wallace Edward Wise

Wallace Edward Wise, 79, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. He was born June 5, 1922, in Ford City, Pa. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired warehouse foreman for an electrical contractor, a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by one son, James E. Wise of Las Vegas.

John Howard Wray

John Howard Wray, 60, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Elko. He was born Nov. 16, 1941, in Bell, Calif. A resident for 18 years, he owned and operated Best Automotive and was a mission president and ordinance worker for the LDS Church.

He is survived by his wife, Penny; two daughters, Sheral Veit-Barney and Debra Workman, and two sons, Daniel R. Wray and Thomas H. Wray, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Richard Setterfield of Polk City, Fla., and Frank Wray of Willets, Calif.; one sister, Ginger Pohlson of Willets; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 90 minutes prior to an 11 a.m. service Saturday in the Hollywood/Kell LDS Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
