Leona Nadine Alarid
Leona Nadine Alarid, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A mail clerk, she was born May 10, 1939, in Walsenburg, Colo.
She is survived by four sons, Eugene Alarid, Michael Alarid, Chris Cordova and Joey Cordova; one daughter, Eileen Squires; one brother, Max Alarid; four sisters, Deloris Alarid, Juanita Alarid, Mary Lou Muniz and Millie Newnon; and four grandchildren.
Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Jesus Arebalo III
Jesus Arebalo III, 27, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born June 15, 1974, in Denver. A resident for seven years, he was a security officer.
He is survived by his wife, Edwina; one stepson, Chris Ferrill of Palm Springs, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Shawn Schulenburg, his parents, Margaret and Jesus Arebalo Jr., and one brother, Bob Arebalo, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Cynthia Arebalo and Theresa Martin, both of Las Vegas, Sandra Fangel of South Dakota and Christine Luna of Denver; and four step-grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled noon until 3 p.m. services today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.
Annie L. Beck
Annie L. Beck, 77, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born May 21, 1924, in Charlotte, N.C. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired laundress.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry McVay of Eldorado Hills, Calif., and Herman McVay of Charlotte; three sisters, Mildred Redfren, Marie Johnson and Jessie May Wallace, all of Charlotte; two brothers, Sam Wallace of Rialto, Calif., and Rochelle Wallace of Charlotte; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in True Vine Baptist Church, 500 Jackson Ave. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Michael Benjamin Borden
Michael Benjamin Borden, 36, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 15, 1965, in California. A resident for six years, he was a telemarketing salesman.
He is survived by his fiancee, Leslie Willingham, and one daughter, Brianna Borden, both of Henderson; his mother and stepfather, Carol and Gregory Wolf of Las Vegas; his father and stepmother, Robert G. and Sally Borden, and one sister, Nikki Neil, all of Wisconsin.
Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road.
C.V. Browne
C.V. Browne, 84, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 25, 1917, in Berwyn, Neb. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired city government equipment operator and a member of Good Sam's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Karen Minge of Plymouth, Minn., Joan Simpson of San Diego and Joyce Hellreigel of Las Vegas; one son, Terry Brown of Mesa, Ariz.; one sister, Cleo Fryrear of Tucson; two brothers, Patrick Brown of Hillsboro, Ore., and Tom Brown of Albuquerque, N.M.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Susan Cerul
Susan Cerul, 45, of Henderson died Tuesday. She was born April 18, 1956, in Pensacola, Fla. A resident for 11 years, she was a personal secretary and a member of a motorcycle club.
She is survived by her husband, John; two sons, John Cerul of Henderson and Zane Cerul of Las Vegas; her mother, Marthajo Williams of Henderson; two sisters, Nicki Crawley of St. Augustine, Fla., and Sandra Carter of Woodland Hills, Utah; three brothers, Randy Williams of Jackson, Wyo., Gary Williams of Peachtree City, Ga., and Dennis Williams of Snohomish, Wash.
A memorial service will be 5 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Mack Dickson
Mack Dickson, 89, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born April 30, 1912, in Crabb, Texas. A resident for 49 years, he was a hotel restroom attendant and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by three daughters, Arma Jean Flagg of LaPuente, Calif., Brenda Dickson of Houston and Vanna L. Dickson of Las Vegas; two sons, Victor C. Corsey of Los Angeles and Max C. Dickson of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, the Rev. Robert Dickson of Los Angeles and Colister Dickson of Fresno, Texas; one sister, Emma Lee Major of Houston; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 1-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will be private.
Rita R. Diprizito
Rita R. Diprizito, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local health care center. She was born Sept. 28, 1923, in New York City. A resident for 15 years, she was a retired stenographer.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Diprizito; one daughter, Bobbi McCormack, and one son, Paul Douglas, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

James D. Fanaris
James D. Fanaris, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born May 11, 1919, in Haverhill, Mass. A resident for 15 years, he was a restaurateur, a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines and a member of the Glendale Moose Lodge.
He is survived by one daughter, Toni Fanaris of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to noon services Friday in Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Ignacio Garcia
Ignacio Garcia, 88, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Guadalajara, Mexico. A resident for five months, he was an upholsterer.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Celia Garcia.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; one daughter, Gloria Hobbs of Las Vegas; three sons, Hector Garcia of Altadena, Calif., Richard Garcia and Robert Garcia, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Fidel Garcia of Mexico City; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Sunday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Anthony Guarino
Anthony Guarino, 77, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in North Las Vegas. A resident for six months, he was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Chicago.
He is survived by one sister, Margaret Schlenk of North Las Vegas.

Alvin Warner Hearne
Alvin Warner Hearne, 65, of Las Vegas, died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 26, 1936, in Wilmington, Del. A resident for 46 years, he was an Air Force veteran, a bookkeeper and member of Teamsters Local 995.
He is survived by his wife, Lovina Heaton Hearne; three sons, Dale Hearne of Las Vegas, Paul Hearne of Henderson and Karl Hearne of Salt Lake City; one daughter, Alisa Hearne of Salt Lake City; two brothers, Rodney Hearne of Wilmington and Isaac Hearne of Las Vegas; three sisters, Jean Barthelson of Hockessin, Del.; Marilyn Ostlund of Salt Lake City and Colleen Morris of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. services Saturday at the LDS East Stake Center, 4040 E. Wyoming Ave. Burial will be 9:20 a.m. Monday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Norman Littlefield
Norman Littlefield, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 9, 1915, in Henryville, Utah. He was an employee in Utah State Parks, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Operating Engineers Union.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dennis; four brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Clella; three sons, Norm Littlefield of Las Vegas, Jay Littlefield of North Las Vegas and Lanny Littlefield of Henderson; two daughters, Marie Zohner of Las Vegas and Judeane Carter of North Las Vegas; 26 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to noon services Monday in the LDS Tropic chapel. Burial will follow in Tropic City Cemetery. Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd., St. George, Utah, is handling arrangements.
Phyllis C. Michalowski
Phyllis C. Michalowski, 78, of Henderson died Monday in a local care center. A retired cosmetologist, she was born May 29, 1923.
She is survived by two sons, James Lynch of Henderson and Larry Lynch of California.

Homer W. Morgan
Homer W. Morgan, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1919, in Los Angeles. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired carpenter, a World War II Navy veteran, served many years in the Professional Ski Patrol in Vail, Colo., and was a member of the Carpenters Union for more than 50 years.
He is survived by one sister, Ann R. Morgan-Rudolph of Fresno, Calif.; one brother, John M. Morgan of Langley, Wash.

Gilbert Peloquin
Gilbert Peloquin, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 18, 1918, in Cambridge, Mass. A resident for 14 years, he was a bookkeeper and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Walter Peloquin of Las Vegas.

Catherine Petrauskas
Catherine Petrauskas, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born April 8, 1922. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired teacher.
She is survived by her husband, John B.; one daughter, Corinne Angerbrandt of Port Huron, Mich.; and three grandchildren.
Services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park.
Cecilia Rey-Crisman
Cecilia Rey-Crisman, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born May 9, 1926, in Caldas, Colombia. A resident for 12 years, she was a retired city government bilingual secretary.
She is survived by three daughters, Theresa Rey and Martha Pena Rey, both of Colombia and Cristina Rey of Las Vegas; one brother, Joaquin of Colombia; and eight grandchildren.

Lewis 'Bud' Scurlock
Lewis "Bud" Scurlock, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 9, 1939, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, he was a head custodian for the Clark County School District and an Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; three daughters, Patricia Ann Held and Kimberly Klees, both of Chicago, and Lisa deBruin of Napa, Calif.; three sisters, Joan Hitzler of Cherokee Village, Ark., Patricia Goepel of St. Louis and Rosemary Bailey of Shelby Township, Mich.; and four grandchildren.

Howard W. Smith Sr., 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Houston. A resident for 22 years, he was a sergeant with the Texas Highway Patrol, captain of intelligence for the state of Texas, deputy chief of the state Gaming Control Board, worked for Sen. Harry Reid's office and was a World War II Navy veteran,
He is survived by his wife, Lanell; one daughter, Sandra Stephens, and two sons, Howard W. Smith Jr. and Michael R. Smith, all of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Shirley Ann Smith-Patrick
Shirley Ann Smith-Patrick, 47, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. She was born Feb. 28, 1954, in Louisiana. A resident for 36 years, she was a Clark County School District custodian.
She is survived by one son, Derrick L. Smith of Las Vegas; two brothers, Raymond Smith of Louisiana and Vernon Paige of Las Vegas; and three sisters, Bonnie S. Smith of Denver and Sandra Smith and Shannon Turner, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Greater St. Paul Church of God in Christ, 911 N. G St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Sadie M. Spencer, 94, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 10, 1907, in Shubuta, Miss. A resident for 60 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Spencer and John Spencer, both of Las Vegas; 21 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 60 great-great-grandchildren and five great-great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in New Bethel Baptist Church, 400 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

John Halley Tihista, 40, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born April 21, 1961, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a warehouseman.
He is survived by one son, John Edward Tihista, his parents, John M. and Paula Tihista, and two sisters, Terri Wuym and Sheri Tihista-Gentile, all of Las Vegas.
A vigil will begin at 5 p.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive. Mass will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Christ the King. Valley Memorial Crematory, 4855 W. Desert Inn Road, is handling arrangements.
Dakota Curtiss Torres
Dakota Curtiss Torres, 7 days, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 3, 2001, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his mother, Alicia Betz, his father, Gilbert Torres, his grandparents, Juanita Torres and Connie and Earl Betz, and his great-grandmother, Pauline Clark, all of Henderson.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
