Leona Nadine Alrid

Leona Nadine Alrid, 62, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 10, 1939, in Walsenburg, Colo. A resident for three months, she was a mail clerk.

She is survived by four sons, Eugene Alrid, Michael Alrid and Joey Cordova, all of Colorado, and Chris Cordova of Las Vegas; one daughter, Eiline Squires of California; one brother, Max Alarid of Colorado; four sisters, Millie Newnon of Illinois and Deloris Alarid, Juanita Alarid and Mary Lou Muniz, all of Colorado; and four grandchildren.

Lawrence Timothy Anderson

Lawrence Timothy Anderson, 53, of Las Vegas died Dec. 5 in Las Vegas. He was born May 13, 1948, in Boone, Iowa. A resident for two years, he was a manager for French Bouquet Florist.

He is survived by two brothers, Ted Anderson and Fred Anderson, and one sister, Joanne Eide, all of Iowa; and his companion, Alan V. Achey of Las Vegas.

Thomas E. Barber

Thomas E. Barber, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 24, 1935, in Alamogordo, N.M. A resident for 33 years, he was a retired construction company owner, and a member of the Sun City Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; one daughter, Cynthia Webster of Pittsfield, Ill.; one son, Jeffrey Barber of Las Vegas; one sister, Ann Trongard of Ogilvie, Minn.; three brothers, John Barber of Donnelly, Minn., and Jack Barber and Mark Barber, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Sidney L. Basford

Sidney L. Basford, 64, of Laughlin died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1936, in Greenwood, Fla. A former resident of Las Vegas, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant, a Korean War veteran and a member of the California Air National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Judith; one daughter, Rochelle Hatcher of Orange, Calif.; one son, Scott Basford of Anaheim, Calif.; one sister, Tawanna Dunnaway of Greenwood, Fla.; and three grandchildren.

Robert C. Bernard

Robert C. Bernard, 59, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born March 1, 1942, in Batavia, N.Y. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a past master of Silver Cord Lodge 51 F&AM, and Patron of North Star Chapter 33, a member of the Nellis Lodge 46, Scottish Rite, All York Rite Bodies, York Rite College, Royal Order of Scotland and the Desert Chapter 22 and a Grand Warden of Nevada of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary Jane; two daughters, Melissa Dewey and Cheryl Daniels, both of Las Vegas; one son, Scott Bernard of Boston, Va.; his mother, Florence Bernard of Batavia; one sister, Beverly Kern of East Pembroke, N.Y.; six brothers, Jack Bernard of Batavia, Allyn Bernard of Oakfield, N.Y., James Bernard of Amelia, Ohio, Dennis Bernard of Miami, Richard Bernard of San Diego and Barry Bernard of Dana Point, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, Downtown.

John Felix Cologna

John Felix Cologna, 54, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born May 8, 1947, in Culver City, Calif. A resident for two years, he was disabled.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; one son, Michael Cologna of Lancaster, Calif., one stepdaughter, Christine Gulick of Las Vegas; his parents, Marvin and Betty Cologna, and two brothers, Jeff Cologna and Jim Cologne, all of Bullhead City, Ariz.

Services are private. Nevada Funeral Service, 2983 Fremont St., handled arrangements.

John Emanuello

John Emanuello, 61, of Las Vegas died Nov. 30 in Las Vegas. He was born June 17, 1940, in Massachusetts. A resident for seven years, he was a host for several casinos, and a member of the Professional Wrestlers Association, Dupress Brothers and the Organa King Jazz Singers.

He is survived by one daughter, Roxanne Rothstein; one brother, Thomas Emanuello III; one sister, Ellen; and two grandchildren.

Deanna Jacquelynne Fleischer

Deanna Jacquelynne Fleischer, 56, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born April 16, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for seven years, she was an art specialist for Ronzone Elementary School, earned two master's degrees, owned a bakery and was a volunteer at a New York City hospital.

She is survived by one daughter, Karin; and three granddaughters.

Robert F. Gilbert

Robert F. Gilbert, 82, of Las Vegas died Nov. 26 in Las Vegas. He was born June 25, 1919, in Las Vegas. He was a manager in the retail industry, and a retired Army major.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; one son, Robert Chester Gilbert of Atlanta; one daughter, Marilyn K. "Kathy" Trout of Las Vegas; one brother, Chester Charles Gilbert of Moreno Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Masonic Temple, 632 E. Charleston Blvd.

August T. Havlicek

August T. Havlicek, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born July 30, 1912, in Chicago. A resident for 11 years, he was a retired Navy torpedoman and a World War II veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Anne Rusnak.

Mary A. Jensen

Mary A. Jensen, 45, of Las Vegas died Dec. 4 in a local hospice. She was born May 11, 1956, in New Jersey. A resident for 10 years, she was a convenience store manager.

She is survived by her husband, Barry; two daughters, Angela Washington and Melissa Hill; one sister, Chris Geib; and one grandchild.

Rosita Paglinawan Jester

Rosita Paglinawan Jester, 54, of Las Vegas died Dec. 3 in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 7, 1947, in Hilo, Hawaii. A resident for 18 years, she was a food service instructor for the Clark County School District.

She is survived by her husband, Keith; one daughter, Karlana Jester of Spring Valley; one son, Robert Kimo Jester of Fort Benning, Ga.; her mother, Mercedes Duran of Hilo; eight brothers and sisters; and one grandchild.

Leona D. Johnivan

Leona D. Johnivan, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Detroit. A resident for 44 years, she was a retired coffee shop waitress, a member of the Ladies Moose Lodge and a volunteer at Desert Springs Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Harold L.; two sons, Harold D. Johnivan of Las Vegas and William A. Johnivan of Elko; one daughter, Dorothy M. January of Everett, Wash., three brothers, William Hamlin of Springfield, Va., Jack Hamlin of Burlington, Iowa, and Charles Hamlin of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be noon Saturday in Palm Mortuary, Downtown. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Shamrock Johnson Jr., 57, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 28, 1944, in Monroe, La. A resident for five years, he was disabled.

He is survived by three sisters, Lerner Rae Gordon of Phoenix and Patricia Ann Johnson and Winnie Faye Johnson, both of Las Vegas.

Mary Karacostas

Mary Karacostas, 77, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. She was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Athens, Greece. A resident for 12 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Alexandra K. Mayer of Pacific Beach, Calif., and Demetra K. Conklin of Reno; one sister, Toula Moraitis of Athens; and three grandchildren.

Marilyn C. LaDue, 60, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born May 26, 1941, in Boston. A resident for 11 years, she was a change person at Circus Circus and the Frontier hotels.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph; two daughters, Janine Golden of Henderson and Christina Matthers of Wynne, Ark.; one brother, Francis McDonald of Massachusetts; and two grandchildren.

Dwaine G. Miller

Dwaine G. Miller, 75, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 20, 1926, in Underwood, N.D. A resident for 19 years, he was a carpenter, a Navy veteran and a member of the Carpenters Union in Las Vegas and California.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three daughters, Vicki of North Dakota, Marsi of Las Vegas and Donna of California; two sons, David and Kim, both of California; one brother, Arnold Miller, and one sister, Mildred Presser, both of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Louise A. Noble

Louise A. Noble, 69, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Laurel, Miss. She was a hotel maid for 30 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Pam Noble and Angela Fowler, and one sister, Lucille Waters, all of Las Vegas; one brother, Willie L. Austin of North Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Loy G. O'Brien

Loy G. O'Brien, 79, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 24, 1922, in London, Ohio. A resident for 49 years, he was a retired owner of a construction company, a World War II Navy veteran, former member of Oasis Masonic Lodge 41, member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 357 and Scottish Rite Bodies, charter member of the Zelzah Shrine Temple of Las Vegas and pre-captain of the Zelzah Patrol.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; seven daughters, Sandra Sue Whitley, Claryene Mack, Jackie O'Brien, Peggy Latour and Barbara Culberson, all of Las Vegas, Bonnie Kay Graham of Kennewick, Wash., and Loy Ann Sheldon in Chino Valley, Ariz.; one son, Shawn O'Brien of Las Vegas; two sisters, Emily M. Wells of Springfield and Linda J. Stigletz of Las Vegas; four brothers, Sherill O'Brien of Springfield, Donald O'Brien of Urbana, Ohio, Jerry O'Brien of Cleveland and Wayne O'Brien of Laford, Texas; 14 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.

James D. Randlett, 69, of Las Vegas died Dec. 3 in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. A resident for nine years, he was a retired social worker and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene; two sons, Chris Randlett of Madison, Wis., and Jason Randlett of Las Vegas; one daughter, Melinda Collins of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Jean Reidelbach, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 15, 1923, in England. A resident for 13 years, she was a cashier for a hotel gift shop and a World War II Army veteran.

She is survived by her husband William L.; two sons, William Reidelbach and Kevin Reidelbach; two daughters, Karen Stanford and Sharon Boyer; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Nicholas Serbenick, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 23, 1925, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 12 years, he was a carpenter, World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by five daughters, Denise Chavira, Renee Atkinson, Tina Serbenick, Debra Serbenick and Nikki Hearns; one brother, Steve Serbenick; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann Terry, 69, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 15, 1932, in Oxnard, Calif. A resident for 13 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Henderson Eastern Star for 50 years.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; four daughters, Mary Rutherford, Jo Anna Frizzell and Patti Jack, all of Las Vegas, and Sarah Hulett of Doniphan, Mo.; and eight grandchildren.

Henry Thompson, 81, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 11, 1920, in Springfield, Ill. A resident for 41 years, he was a retired government inspector, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a member of the Indian Springs Masonic Lodge and Operating Engineers Local 12.

He is survived by two sons, Robert Thompson and Henry Thompson Jr., and one daughter, Christina Unruh, all of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Frankie Lee Wise

Frankie Lee Wise, 70, of Las Vegas died Nov. 29 in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Shreveport, La. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Algernon A.; two sons, Richard Wise of Yuba City, Calif., and Darrell Wise of Oxnard, Calif.; four daughters, Karen McLucas and Jeri Wise, both of Oxnard, Vivian Wise and Lori Wise, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Elizabeth Ford of Long Beach, Calif., and Sybil James of Chicago; and nine grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the 19th hole at 1361 W. Warm Springs Road at Stephanie St. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Joan L. Young

Joan L. Young, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. She was born March 14, 1915, in Punxsutawney, Pa. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired aircraft coil winder.

She is survived by one niece, Irene Raimondo of Cypress, Calif.
