Mississippi gaming regulator promoted

JACKSON, Miss. -- The Mississippi Gaming Commission has hired Larry Gregory as the agency's executive director.
Commissioners announced Tuesday that Gregory will replace Charles Patton when he retires later this week.
Patton has been the agency's executive director since July 1998.
Gregory has served as the Gaming Commission's deputy director since August 1998. He's also served as the agency's chief of staff.
Gregory, a Jackson native, received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Southern Mississippi. He received his masters in public policy administration from Mississippi State University.
