Annual event in Indian Springs
The Indian Springs Casino is hosting its sixth annual Bikes for Tikes toy drive at noon Saturday at the casino, 32 miles northwest of Santa Fe Station on U.S. 95.
The park and ride lot at U.S. 95 and Centennial Parkway, north of the Ann Road exit, will be a rally point at 11:30 a.m. for those who wish to ride together as a group.

Artist Purcell visits Lake Mead
Artist Roy Purcell will sign copies of his new book "Portraits of Nature," as part of the holiday open house, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Alan Bible Visitor Center at Lake Mead.
The book features paintings and sketches of desert plants and wildlife. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be contributed to the Outside Las Vegas Foundation to continue their work with federal land management agencies in Las Vegas.
The visitors center is on U.S. 93 east of Boulder City. Call 293-8947.
The League of Women Voters
will hold its Christmas luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Main Street Station. Cost is $18. Call 464-7887.
Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa
will be celebrated with stories and songs at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive. Admission is free. Call 633-1070.
A car-seat inspection
and safety fair is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Saturday in the southeast corner of Marshalls, 3740 S. Maryland Parkway.
The North Las Vegas Chamber
Community Foundation will hold its annual "Galaxy of Northern Stars Awards" luncheon and silent auction at 11 a.m. Thursday at Texas Station's Conference Center. The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas. Cost is $35. For reservations, call 642-9595.
The Las Vegas Running Team
will host the third annual "Come Run with Santa" 5K Run and 1-mile Walk at 8 p.m. Saturday at Saturn of Henderson in the Valley Auto Mall. Call Dan Campbell at 450-4788.
