Henderson church plans free event
Highland Hills Baptist Church of Henderson will present its third annual "Drive Through Nativity" 7-9 p.m. each night through Sunday. It is free, and the public is invited to the event.
The event is at the church, 615 College Drive, Henderson. For directions or more information, call 566-0200.
Reese to get input on Circle Park
Las Vegas Councilman Gary Reese will play host to a meeting of Circle Park neighborhood residents and businesses at 6:30 tonight to seek input regarding a redesign of the area.
The meeting is for residents and business people who are within one-half mile of Circle Park on Maryland Parkway south of Charleston Boulevard.
The meeting will be at the John C. Fremont Middle School multipurpose room at 1100 E. St. Louis St.
Milken Award teachers honored
Nevada's two 2001 Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award winners were honored Monday during a ceremony at the Tropicana.
Ruth Litterini, a Chaparral High School English teacher, and Valdine McLean, a science teacher at Pershing County High School in Lovelock, were honored as the state's recipients of the $25,000 award.
The ceremony was sponsored by the Milken Family Foundation and the Nevada Department of Education.
