Letter: ‘Fuzzy math’ on fed judges
Monday, Dec. 10, 2001 | 8:53 a.m.
Thomas L. Jipping, from the Free Congress Foundation in Washington, D.C., once again proves that statistics don't lie but statisticians do in his Dec. 4 letter, "Democrats not ahead of pace."
The most casual observer of national politics knows that the Republican-led Senate stonewalled most of Clinton's judicial nominees for the eight years of his presidency. This left the federal judicial ranks seriously depleted.
Now that Bush is advancing his nominees, the Democrats don't confirm fast enough to satisfy the Republicans. Stuffing the judicial ranks with Republican judges before next November's elections is the issue.
We know what's going on, Mr. Jipping. Please don't insult our intelligence with more of your "fuzzy math."
