A Pakistani man pleaded not guilty today to a charge of attempting to use a counterfeit passport to enter the United States at McCarran International Airport.
Imtiaz Hussain, 44, appeared before U.S. Magistrate Peggy Leen at a plea arraignment on charges he tried to use a fake British passport at McCarran on Nov. 22.
According to an affidavit filed by the INS, Hussain arrived in Las Vegas on a flight from London under the name Ghazanfar Ali.
INS officials say Hussain confessed that he had been denied a visa to enter the United States and purchased the false passport from a document vendor in Pakistan.
