StumbleLetter: Arming pilots is a proven solution

Regarding pilots carrying guns in the cockpit: As a retired airline captain I could never figure out why this was not done years ago. The airline I worked for had the very first hijacking, and I believe they still hold the record for the most hijackings.
There were those of us who carried guns for years, myself included, the public just did not know it. It should be on a voluntary basis with proper training.
Check out El Al's record: The airline has never had a hijacking since crew members were armed.
