Las Vegas Council briefs for December 6, 2001
Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001 | 9:06 a.m.
The hearing impaired will be able to follow Las Vegas City Council meetings through closed captioning on the city's government access television station -- KCLV, Cox cable Channel 2.
Closed captioning will be provided during rebroadcasts of the council meetings. A small graphic will appear briefly every 30 minutes to remind viewers of the service, the first of its kind among government access stations in Southern Nevada.
The city is looking for sponsors to underwrite the cost. For more information, call the communications office at 229-6501.
Meeting planned for leaders
Las Vegas Councilman Gary Reese will host the second annual presidents' round-table tonight, during which he will discuss issues affecting eastern Las Vegas.
The round-table is 6:30 p.m. at the Desert Pines Golf Course meeting room at 3415 E. Bonanza Road near Pecos Road.
The presidents of more than 30 neighborhood associations will discuss the area's quality of life.
