Workshop planned at women's center
The Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence is offering a free Millennium Scholarship workshop 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite 330.
The Millennium Scholarship offers all Nevada high school students who meet the residency requirements and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, a $10,000 scholarship if they attend a public college or university in Nevada.

LV chapter will hold annual event
The Las Vegas Chapter of 100 Black Men of America will hold its 2001 Holiday Gala Saturday at Paris Las Vegas.
The "100" is a nonprofit organization designed to improve the quality of life for blacks and other minorities.
The gala is a fund-raiser to benefit the group's mentoring program. To make reservations, call Larry Mosley at 567-0366 or Lillian McMorris at 313-5257.
Bunkers Cemeteries and Mortuaries Group
will dedicate the Our Lady of Guadalupe Garden at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North. The Garden will be the first of its kind to be dedicated to the Hispanic community. It will be defined by a 12-foot bronze-on-granite feature of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
is offering the program "Canyon Critters," Friday for families to learn about the different animals from wild horses to hibernating creatures. Hikes and walks are offered free of charge, but reservations are required for all programs, which begin at the Visitors Center. To make reservations or for information call 363-1922.
