Sidney Adler

Sidney Adler, 91, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1910, in Bialystok, Poland. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired entrepreneur and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one sister, Sybil Fineman of Las Vegas; and one brother, Art Adler of Omaha, Neb.

Graveside services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite hospice.

Geneva B. Alloway

Geneva B. Alloway, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Huntsville, Ala. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Cox-Barrie of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Roberts of Loretto, Tenn.; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Evelyn Christensen Best

Evelyn Christensen Best, 74, of Boulder City died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1927, in California. A resident for seven years, she was an editorial assistant, a member of the Faculty Wives Club at USC, Harvard, Florida State and Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla.

She is survived by her husband, Wallace; one son, Malcolm Wallace Best; two daughters, Celia Margaret Best Goodman and Christy Evelyn Best Block; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Audrey Garnette Birch

Audrey Garnette Birch, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday. She was born May 27, 1922, in Hastings, Neb. A resident for 55 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Cannon, Alice Makowiecki and Cheryl Hildebrand, all of Las Vegas; three sons, Rolla Birch Jr. and Woodson Birch, both of Las Vegas and John Griffith of Glenvil, Neb.; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be noon Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Annette Bourne

Annette Bourne, 66, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 30, 1935, in London. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; one daughter, Tanya Bourne of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

James J. Cavanaugh

James J. Cavanaugh, 75, of Henderson died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 13, 1926, in Illinois. A resident for six years, he was an upholsterer.

He is survived by his wife, Jeriann M.; and one nephew, Jeffery Cavanaugh of Phoenix.

Dessa R. Clark

Dessa R. Clark, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born Aug. 16, 1921, in Downey, Calif. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Rae Clark of Marina Del Rey, Calif.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mark D. Dittmar

Mark D. Dittmar, 37, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 23, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A resident for 20 years, he was a marble setter in the construction industry.

He is survived by his parents, Helen and Richard Sr. of Nevada; one brother, Richard Jr. of California; and five sisters, Sheila of California, Bonnie, Lisa and Karla, all of Nevada and Kristine of Iowa.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 3 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Pauline Giammarino

Pauline Giammarino, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Henderson. She was born May 28, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Angelo; two sons, Robert Giammarino and Anthony Giammarino, both of Henderson; and three grandchildren.

Ernest C. Hasselfeld

Ernest C. Hasselfeld, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born June 5, 1921, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired owner of an electrical company.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; two daughters, Jeanell Milner of North Las Vegas and Wendy Brown of Las Vegas; three sisters, Elsie Harrison of Rialto, Calif., Darline Case of St. George, Utah, and Barbara Smith of Toquerville, Utah; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Edward Haven, 88, of Las Vegas died Nov. 25 in a local hospital. A chemical engineer and a member of the Kiwanis Club, he was born Dec. 10, 1912, in California.

He is survived by his wife, Isabel; and three daughters, Patricia Swancuti of San Marina, Calif., Susann Croghton of Santa Monica, Calif., and Sara Jones Banks of Los Angeles.

Dr. B.J. Hopper

Dr. B.J. Hopper, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 18, 1928, in Miston, Tenn. A resident for 40 years, he was a retired dentist and a Korean War veteran.

He is survived by three sons, David Hopper, Steven Hopper and Bradley Hopper, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Martha Sue Baker of Dyersburg, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

Henrietta "Henry" Indergand, 92, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. She was born June 13, 1909, in Los Angeles. A resident for five years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Martin L. Indergand of Las Vegas; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pauline A. Kelly

Pauline A. Kelly, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 23, 1919, in Cherry, Pa. A resident for 29 years, she was a waitress at the Pink Pony and Circus-Circus and became the first usher at Holy Family Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dominic; one son, Jerry Kelly of Massapequa, N.Y.; one daughter, Rosemary Reed of Hominy, Okla.; two sisters, Mary Von Holen of Floral Park, N.Y., and Stella Gatta-Clark of Las Vegas; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Wednesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Samuel Lewis

Samuel Lewis, 65, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Alabama. A resident for nine months, he was president of a dry cleaning company and a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Violet D.

Patricia A. Martin

Patricia A. Martin, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born March 16, 1940, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 11 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Steve W.; two sons, James Martin and Steve Martin, and one daughter, Josephine Beck, all of Las Vegas; her mother, Josephine Radford, and two brothers, Harry Radford and John Radford, all of Brooklyn; three sisters, Barbara Bregoli of Boynton Beach, N.Y., and Mary Radford and Nancy Radford, both of Brooklyn; and 10 grandchildren.

Richard Aloha Mendiola

Richard Aloha Mendiola, 68, died Nov. 28 in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 25, 1933, in Honolulu. He owned Pacific Masonry and was a member of the Hawaiian Bowling Club and the Bricklayers Union.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Claude K. Mendiola Sr. and Shane L. Mendiola; four daughters, Donna L.P. Galdiere, Haaheo K. Mendiola, Marilyn K. Valasco and Victoria K. Mendiola; two brothers, Robert Mendiola and Philip Mendiola; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Anthony W. Mittelman, 79, of Las Vegas died Nov. 21 in Las Vegas. He was born May 4, 1922, in New York. A resident for two years, he was a garment business owner and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Marla Joan Mittelman; one brother, Jeffrey Mittelman; and one grandchild.

Eric Dale Morris

Eric Dale Morris, 22, of Henderson died Saturday. He was born Sept. 29, 1979, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a brick mason.

He is survived by his mother, Dalene Arda Morris of Henderson; his father and stepmother, Robert Douglas and Patty Ann Morris of Oakdale, Calif.; two sisters, Brittany Dalene Morris of Las Vegas and Janet Suzanne Morris of Mesa, Ariz.; and three brothers, Bryon Douglas Morris of Brentwood, Calif., Nathan Robert Morris and Jason Daniel Morris, both of Las Vegas.

Herbert L. Murillo, M.D.

Herbert L. Murillo, M.D., 72, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born May 15, 1929, in Cebu City, Philippines. A resident for four years, he was a retired physician and former staff member of St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, Ind., a former member of the Philippine Professional Association, American Medical Association and Indiana Medical Association and a member of the Philippine Medical Association of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Amparo; one daughter, Arlene Saadat of Henderson; four sons, Rene Murillo of Evansville, Ind., Ramon Murillo of Indianapolis, Herbert Murillo Jr. of San Antonio and Roland Murillo of Manila, Philippines; one sister, Virginia Bedonia, and one brother, Benjamin Murillo, both of the Philippines; and 11 grandchildren.

Irving E. Murphy Jr.

Irving E. Murphy Jr., 79, of Boulder City died Monday in Boulder City. He was born May 25, 1922, in Chicago. A resident for four years, he was a retired railroad executive and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary C.; three sons, Irving E. Murphy III of Boulder City, Steven L. Murphy of Aurora, Ill., and Craig M. Murphy of Cotati, Calif.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

William H. Myers, 93, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Oct. 26, 1908, in Independence, Mo. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired automobile parts salesman.

He is survived by one son, Roy Newton Myers of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Jean Scharf of Litchfield, Ill., and Jane Frantz of East Peoria, Ill.

She is survived by one son, Nelson Deason of Salt Lake City; one daughter, Diane Hart of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; one son, Alex Orvis of Henderson; and one sister, Alice Long of Cleveland, Tenn.

Patricia Sartorio Palec, 67, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born March 13, 1934, in the Philippines. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Jaime Palec Jr. of the Philippines; eight daughters, Flora Palec and Evelyn Geary, both of Henderson, Cecilia Wheeler and Luzmin Pafis, both of Nevada, Helen Palec, Josephine Daban and Ida Palec, all of the Philippines, and Barbara Jenkins of San Diego.

James E. Pitochelli, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 25, 1938, in Providence, R.I. A resident for six years, he was an attorney, an Air Force veteran and a member of the Augustus Society.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; one daughter, Heather Collins of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Brian Rabune of Newport Beach, Calif., Allan Rabune of Sydney, Australia, and Joel Rabune of Sebastopol, Calif.; one brother, Lou Reisig of Florida; two sisters, Sara Levine of Florida and Bessie Schumer of New York; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryne; two sons, Robert Stephens of California and Phil Stephens of Walnut Creek, Calif.; one daughter, Carol Richards of Walnut Creek; and four grandchildren.

Gessue "Jay" Tocco, 68, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Detroit. A resident for 23 years, he was a tile and marble setter.

He is survived by his companion, Doris Biger of Las Vegas; four daughters, Toni Tocco of North Carolina, Susan Fossum of Las Vegas, Janet Huges of Mississippi and Joni Lahti of Texas; three sons, James Tocco and Sammie Tocco, both of Michigan and Dominic Tocco of Florida; and eight grandchildren.

Mass was scheduled at 1:30 p.m. today in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Burial will be private. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
