Meeting planned for volunteers
The University of Nevada Cooperative Extension is looking volunteers for the program Friendship with Families. An orientation meeting will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at 2590 Lindell Road.
The program trains and matches volunteers with families who want someone to help them understand what resources and activities are available in the Las Vegas Valley. For more information, call 257-5597.
The 2001 Special Olympics Regional Bowling Tournament
will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Castaways hotel. Ceremonies will be highlighted by the Parade of Athletes. Nellis Air Force Base, Knights of Pythias and the Pythian Sisters will be volunteering during the event. For more information, call Curt Stockett at 474-0690.
The third annual Money Matters
workshop will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Community College of Southern Nevada, 6375 W. Charleston Blvd., with information on scholarships, tax tips, legal matters, insurance entrepreneurial opportunities and more. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 594-5053.
"Moenkopi Morning,"
a 1 1/2 mile easy walk along the Moenkopi trail Friday is one of the highlights of this week's events in the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. To make reservations or for information call 363-1922.
