Harrah's Entertainment Inc. of Las Vegas received an award from a trade magazine for having one of the top 50 corporate Internet websites in the country.
Las Vegas-based Harrah's received a "Web Business 50 Award" from CIO magazine, an information technology trade publication. Harrah's was the only gaming company to make the list, and joined companies such as Cisco Systems, Ernst & Young LLP, Ford Motor Co., J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., and Southwest Airlines.
Criteria used by the magazine's staff included design, ease of navigation, special features, functionality, and ability to survive and thrive in all business climates. The magazine also searched for sites "creating new and ingenious ways to service their target market, customers or organization," Harrah's said.
