Cox selling services at Circuit City
Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001 | 9:19 a.m.
Cox Communications Inc., the dominant cable television company serving Southern Nevada, will offer its services and products to customers at Circuit City electronics stores.
Cox Vice President Steve Schorr said a company display has been set up at Circuit City stores at Eastern and Tropicana avenues, Sahara Avenue and Decatur Boulevard, Stephanie Street and Sunset Road and on West Tropical Parkway in northwest Las Vegas, as well as at more than 70 stores in California and Arizona.
Schorr said Cox is offering broadband and cable connections to the stores in exchange for display space. The company hopes to sell business and residential connections to consumers by demonstrating product capability with hardware on the Circuit City showroom floor.
Cox is negotiating with other consumer electronics stores to display its products in retail settings, Schorr said. It already has relationships with Abbott's Audio & Video and with Century 23 Computers & Technology in Las Vegas.
