GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Centennial def. Sierra Vista, 15-4, 15-0, 15-1: Tracy Hunt put up seven assists and Brook Whitaker slammed five aces for the Bulldog victory.
Cheyenne def. Western, 15-11, 6-15, 12-15, 15-12, 17-15: Megan Brown recorded 11 kills, Kristi Lanier served up five aces and Chrissy Kolkhorst put up 27 assists for the Desert Shield win.
Basic def. Desert Pines, 15-4, 15-4, 15-10: The Wolves opened the season with a commanding three-game sweep.
Silverado def. Valley, 15-4, 15-1, 15-12: The Skyhawks downed the Vikings in both teams' season opener.
Las Vegas def. Foothill, 16-17, 15-11, 15-12, 15-4: Ashley Ogle had 16 kills and Lyndsey Webb dished out 33 assists for the Wildcats.

BOYS TENNIS
Centennial 18, Durango 4.5: Derek Jackson and Bryce Massanari teamed up to win three doubles matches for the Bulldogs. Dean Stavri went 3-0 in singles for the Blazers.
Green Valley 18.5, Clark 4: The Gators got three singles wins from Jason Harper and three doubles victories from the team of Jeremy Hynds and Scott Moon.
GIRLS TENNIS
Cheyenne 18.5, Sierra Vista 4: Tiffany Abbott and Amanda Wenzek swept three doubles matches for the Desert Shields, as did teammates Brittany Cooper and Nina Shaffer.
Centennial 14, Durango 8.5: Centennial's Ashlee Crable posted three singles wins, while Durango's Erin Miller and Alisha Sanders combined for two doubles victories.
