Dick Lee Dawson

Dick Lee Dawson, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 3, 1917, in Caliente. A lifelong resident, he was a retired brakeman for the Union Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by one daughter, Jo Dawson of Great Falls, Mont.; two sons, Mike Dawson of Sandy Valley and Pat Block of Tehachapi, Calif.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service in Sandy Valley is pending. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Patricia G. Faires

Patricia G. Faires, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. A florist, she was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Glenwood Springs, Colo.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; two daughters, Kim Wilde of Grand Junction, Colo., and Joy Hogue of Pensacola, Fla.; her mother, Mayzell Merrill of Grand Junction; two brothers, Steve Davis of England, and Rick Merrill of Needles, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Colorado. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Danny Ray Jones

Danny Ray Jones, 43, of Las Vegas died Aug. 18 in Las Vegas. A resident for 36 years, he was born July 11, 1958, in Shreveport, La.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy; one daughter, LaDesse Jones, one son, Johnny Jones, one stepson, Jonathan Daniels, one stepdaughter, LaDonna Johnson, his parents, Georgia and Ealy James, one brother, Michael Jones, one sister, Stephanie Morgan, and his grandmother, Gracie Jones, all of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Margaret Jo 'Peggy' Kelley

Margaret Jo "Peggy" Kelley, 48, of Las Vegas died Aug. 24 in Las Vegas. She was born March 24, 1953, in Superior, Wis. A resident for 17 years, she was a certified public accountant for the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

She is survived by one daughter, Lucy of Las Vegas; one brother, Roger of Duluth, Minn.; and three sisters, Laurie Larson and Molly Andrews, both of Superior and Barbara Kelly of Duluth.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Edythe D. Knisley

Edythe D. Knisley, 79, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local health care center. She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Johnstown, Pa. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired supervisor for state government.

She is survived by one brother, Edward Fiore of Henderson; and one sister, Mary Keller of Novato, Calif.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Illinois. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Clara Mae Lengel

Clara Mae Lengel, 73, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 21, 1901, in Texas. A resident for eight months, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Wayne; one daughter, Connie Sue; one brother, Joe; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Services will be in Colorado. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Ruby Helen Lewis

Ruby Helen Lewis, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for 11 years, she was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Texas.

She is survived by one son, Vernon Calvin of Houston; three daughters, Sharon Renee Woodard of Las Vegas, Bonnie Elizabeth Wiley of Moreno, Calif., and Melissa Helena Turner of Las Vegas; one brother, Robert Jackson of Inglewood, Calif.; one sister, Willie Bennett; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North, North Las Vegas. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Arlene M. Mueller

Arlene M. Mueller, 62, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 30, 1939, in Milwaukee. A resident for 29 years, she was a retired hotel-casino cashier.

She is survived by three daughters, Sherri Chambers, Laurie Leon and Wendy Mueller, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Douglas Tearney of Muskego, Wis., and Gerald Tearney of Hartland, Wis.; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Raymond A. Nosbisch

Raymond A. Nosbisch, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 29, 1928, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was a contractor and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline P.; two sons, Keith R. Nosbisch of Piedmont, Mo., and Thomas G. Nosbisch of Inverness, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Ross 'Pat' W. Pennington

Ross "Pat" W. Pennington, 44, of Hiko died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 25, 1956, in Blythe, Calif. A resident for 41 years, he was a laborer in the ranching industry and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gemma; one son, C.J. Covone, and one daughter, Genine Pennington, both of Las Vegas; his mother, Noreene Pennington of Hiko; and two brothers, Tom Pennington of Las Vegas and Evan Goulette of Hiko.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in the Alamo LDS Chapel. Burial will follow in Hiko Cemetery. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

George Ladislas Pesler

George Ladislas Pesler, 78, of Las Vegas died Aug. 11 in Las Vegas. He was born April 23, 1923, in Czechoslovakia. A resident for 19 years, he was a general foreman in the automobile industry and an Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by one son, Jeffery Pesler of Dayton, Ohio; two daughters, Janet Mueller of Parma, Ohio, and Nancy Hake of Denver; one brother, John Pesler of Cleveland; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services were 10:40 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

JoAnn Flynn Pitts

JoAnn Flynn Pitts, 63, of Henderson died Wednesday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 8, 1937, in San Francisco. A resident for one year, she was a retired caregiver.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Teddy Hoover.

She is survived by one son, Michael Patrick Flynn of Mar Vista, Calif.; three daughters, Virginia Rose Shaffer and Veronica Ann Whisenhunt, both of Henderson and Virlynnia Grace Baldwin of Huntington Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Grace Hoover of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and Rose Knutsen and Virginia Hoover, both of Tulare, Calif.; one brother, Crossin Hoover of San Francisco; and five grandchildren.

Michael B. Schreur

Michael B. Schreur, 44, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 25, 1957, in Stillwater, Minn. A resident for 31 years, he was a baker.

He is survived by his wife, Gina; one son, Benjaman Schreur, one daughter, Athene Schreur, his mother, Irene Schreur, and two brothers, Steven Schreur and Brian Schreur, all of Las Vegas.

George C. Stumpf Jr.

George C. Stumpf Jr., 90, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 12, 1911, in Indianapolis. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired high school teacher, retired firefighter and World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by three sisters, Ruth Straub of Franklin, Ind., Esther Hemmer of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Elsa Waltz of Greenwood, Ind.; three brothers, Frank Stumpf of Carmel, Ind., Richard Stumpf of Indianapolis and Robert Stumpf of Las Vegas.

No local services are scheduled. Graveside services will be Tuesday in California. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to charities that will benefit veterans.

Janet Lee Tecklenburg

Janet Lee Tecklenburg, 59, of Las Vegas died Aug. 19 in Las Vegas. She was born March 21, 1942, in Taft, Calif. A resident for 11 years, she was an employee of the Clark County School District and the North Las Vegas Police Department.

She is survived by her husband, Gary J.; one son, Michael J. Tecklenburg of Clements, Calif.; two daughters, Jamie L. Fields of Las Vegas and Gwendi T. Faris of Pleasanton, Calif.; and her father, Harold E. Cronn of Lodi, Calif.

Raymundo Telles

Raymundo Telles, 57, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 21, 1944, in Las Cruces, N.M. A resident for five years, he was an electrician.

He is survived by one son, Angelo Telles; one daughter, Marcy Juarez; his mother, Josephina Telles; four brothers, Hector Telles, Alfredo Telles, Gilbert Telles and Michael Telles; four sisters, Elena Schuyler, Alicia Lucero, Connie Telles and Dolores Lindbeck; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Felicie Valiente

Felicie Valiente, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 23, 1911, in Cuba. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Gladys Morejon of Las Vegas; three sons, Julio Valiente and Reinaldo Valiente, both of Las Vegas and Alberto Valiente; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled noon-10 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow at noon Saturday in Bunkers' Eden Vale Memorial Park.

William T. Wilson

William T. Wilson, 70, of Pahrump died Monday in Pahrump. He was born Feb. 13, 1931, in San Diego. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired Vietnam War Navy veteran who received the Purple Heart and was a member of the Pahrump Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his close friend, Rita Naglitsch of Pahrump; three daughters, Colleen Wilson of Sacramento and Windy Salazar and Crystal Wilson, both of North Carolina; one son, Wayne Wilson of Toronto; two brothers; two sisters; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Pahrump Family Mortuary, 5441 S. Vicki Ann Road.

Maria Zoumis

Maria Zoumis, 73, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born March 10, 1928, in Greece. A resident for 38 years, she was a hotel-casino carousel attendant.

She is survived by her husband, Norman; one daughter, Katherine Zoumis of Las Vegas; one brother, and one sister, both of Greece.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
