Frank H. Alsup
Frank H. Alsup, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Modesto, Calif. He was born July 13, 1929, in Pittsburgh. A resident for 42 years, he was a pipefitter in the construction industry and a member of Pipefitters Local 525.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one son, James W. Alsup of Las Vegas; one brother, William Alsup of Modesto; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Chapel. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Edward Richard Bell
Edward Richard Bell, 52, of Pahrump died Monday. He was born Sept. 14, 1948, in Tennessee. A longtime resident, he was a splicer for a telephone company.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Fremont, Ohio. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, handled arrangements.
Lily Clopton
Lily Clopton of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 18, 1910, in Montana. A resident for 11 years, she was a solderer for an aircraft company.
She is survived by one son, Edward Earl Clopton of Henderson; one sister, Daisy of Anaheim, Calif.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Violet Foltz
Violet Foltz, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born April 15, 1920, in Ethelbert, Manitoba. A resident for 11 years, she was a retired waitress.
She is survived by two sons, Vincent Foltz and Ronald C. Foltz, both of Michigan; one daughter, Deborah Kowalski, and one sister, Vivian Carr, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Monty Chreptyk of Canada; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Roger Lee Hall
Roger Lee Hall, 36, of Las Vegas died Aug. 18 in a local care center. He was born June 26, 1965, in Sacramento. A resident for two years, he was a welder at Nevada Truck Equipment Co.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel; two sons, Jason Hall and Thomas Hall, and one daughter, Nicci Hall, all of North Las Vegas; one stepson, Duane Waldron II of Washington; his father, Donald Hall of California; and four brothers, Steve Hall of Fallon, Jim Hall of Shelly, Idaho, Brian Hall of Port Orchard, Wash., and Bruce Hall of Las Vegas.
A memorial service was scheduled at 3 p.m. today in Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Jessie M. Hannagan
Jessie M. Hannagan, 86, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 30, 1914, in Kosse, Texas. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker and a World War II Air Corps Army veteran.
She is survived by one sister, Mildred Peterson of Las Vegas; and one brother, Marshall Pillow of Sour Lake, Texas.
Visitation is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, Downtown. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.
Bonita Joyce Kelley
Bonita Joyce Kelley of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born May 15, 1920, in Kentucky. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis Kelley, Tommy Kelley and Michael Kelley; two daughters, Diana Clark and Alita Feaver; one sister, Jane Ogden; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Margaret Jo 'Peggy' Kelley
Margaret Jo "Peggy" Kelley of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born March 24, 1953, in Wisconsin. A resident for 17 years, she was a certified public accountant for the state Gaming Control Board.

Ellis L. Lawson
Ellis L. Lawson, 76, of Las Vegas died Aug. 18 in Las Vegas. A resident for 12 years, he was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Galesburg, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Jeff Ellis of Washington, Tim Ellis of Oregon and Lonnie Ellis of Florida; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements. Burial will be private.
Bernie Petarde
Bernie Petarde, 80, of North Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 29, 1920,in Averyville, Ill. A resident for 50 years, he was a retired musician and a member of the Musicians Union.
He is survived by his wife, Lela; two daughters, Marcia Ford of Utah and Sharon Palacio of Las Vegas; one son, Dennis Petarde of Las Vegas;one sister, Lavon Ferris of Peoria, Ill.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, Jones. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Martha Milagros Pijan
Martha Milagros Pijan, 72, of Henderson died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 2, 1929, in Havana, Cuba. A resident for two years, she was an assembly line worker for an electronics company.
She is survived by one son, Jose Carlos Martin, and two daughters, Maria E. Delgado and Martha Chapman, all of Henderson; three brothers, Enrique Gonzalez of Cuba and Carlos Gonzalez and Jorge Gonzalez, both of Florida; two sisters, Ziomara De La Nuez and Caridad Aleman, both of Florida; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Tuesday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.
Hank Pollard
Hank Pollard of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 19, 1947, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 23 years, he was a dealer and a member of the Professional Poker Players Association.
He is survived by two sons, Michael and Jordan Pollard; one daughter, Junie Pollard; one brother, Richard Pollard; two sisters, Bernice Congo and Delores Matthews; and two grandchildren.

Gloria Prado
Gloria Prado of Las Vegas died Aug. 16 in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 12, 1920, in Cuba. A resident for three years, she was a teacher.
She is survived by one sister, Esther Fernandez; and many nieces and nephews.

Walter D. Rappaport
Walter D. Rappaport, 76, died Monday in a local hospital. Born Dec. 7, 1924, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a manager in the gaming industry, a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Air Force veteran, and a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, York Rite, a Shriner with the Zelzah Temple, and senior vice-commander of Kandel-Seigenberg-Tarr Post 711.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; one son, James Rappaport, and one daughter, Ellen Rappaport, both of Long Beach, Calif.
Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Zelzah Shrine Temple, 2200 W. Mesquite Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens. Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Shriners Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.
Jennie Faye M. Roper
Jennie Faye M. Roper, 95, of Henderson died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 30, 1905, in American Fork, Utah. A resident for 46 years, she was a teacher for the Clark County School District and a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
She is survived by one nephew, Lynn Stewart of Henderson.
Visitation is scheduled noon until 1 p.m. services Saturday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.
Everett D.C. Sparks
Everett D.C. Sparks, 44, of Las Vegas died Aug. 22 in Las Vegas. A resident for 32 years, he was born Nov. 24, 1956, in California.
He is survived by one son, Ryan Sparks; his father, Edgar E. Sparks; his mother, Dewey Hinkle; one brother, Rodney Sparks; and one sister, Rebbie D. Haney.

Elizabeth H. Sturm
Elizabeth H. Sturm, 93, of North Las Vegas died Monday in North Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 20, 1907, in Walker, Ariz. A resident for 2 1/2 years, she was a retired laboratory technician for a health care company, a lifetime member of American Association of University Women and a charter member of the Pilot Club in Prescott, Ariz., and she enjoyed gardening and sewing.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn S. Williams of North Las Vegas; two sisters, Inez Cobb of Fresno, Calif., and Virginia Nicholson of Lake City, Colo.; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.

Charles Edward Usnick
Charles Edward Usnick, 65, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1936, in Reno. A resident for one year, he was a gaming accountant, an Army veteran, a member of the Elks, American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10047 and a past post commander of VFW Post 407.
He is survived by one sister, Virginia E. Usnick of Las Vegas.
A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic cemetery in Reno. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Veterans Administration of Southern Nevada Health Care System Voluntary Services, 1700 Vegas Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89106.
Lan Thanh Mary Teresa Vu
Lan Thanh Mary Teresa Vu, 46, of Las Vegas died Monday in Centerville, Texas. She was born Sept. 24, 1954, in Vietnam. A resident for two years, she was a beautician.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; two daughters, Hieu Nguyen and Thao Nguyen, and one son, Shane Nguyen, all of Las Vegas; her father, Tho Duc Vu, and her mother, Hue Thi Nguyen, both of Vietnam; three sisters, Phung Vu of Georgia and Trang Vu and Hoang Vu, both of Vietnam; two brothers, Long Vu of Texas and Ky Vu of New Jersey; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Anne Catholic Church, 1901 S. Maryland Parkway. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Mortuary.
William Doyce West
William Doyce West of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born June 19, 1930, in Tennessee. A resident for 16 years, he was a photographer, the owner of Studio West, and a member of the Professional Photographers of America, Delorean Owner's Club and the Rotary Club.
He is survived by three sons, Kirk, Kim and William D. West Jr.; one stepson, David Bushing; three daughters, Lee Ann Arcishewsky, Stephanie West and Dori Hrnciar; and one stepdaughter, Dawn Kent; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
