Casino sued for Fremont Street assessments

The Fremont Street Experience sued to recover about $1.5 million in allegedly overdue assessments from one of its members, Binion's Horseshoe Club hotel-casino.
Fremont Street Experience LLC, which maintains the lightshow-themed attraction that's built to bring gamblers, tourists and visitors to the downtown Las Vegas casino district, sued Binion's in Clark County District Court on Wednesday.
The Fremont Street board, which said it has been trying unsuccessfully for more than a year to recover past assessments as well as current monthly dues from Binion's, said it took legal action only after funding shortfalls forced the cancellation of three summer and fall events.
The defendant could not be reached for comment.
