Visitation tonight for Ghanem

Visitation for Dr. Elias Ghanem will be 7 to 9 tonight at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Catholic Church, with a rosary at 8, said by The Rev. Nabil Mouannes of the Maronite Catholic Community of Las Vegas.
Ghanem, chairman of the Nevada Athletic Commission and a prominent local physician who was an innovator in the preferred provider organization-style of health care in Las Vegas, died Monday at his home following a three-year battle with cancer. He was 62.
Services for the Las Vegas resident of 30 years will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Catholic Church.
Those scheduled to deliver eulogies are his son Elias Ghanem II, Desert Inn owner Steve Wynn, Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., Sun Editor and President Brian Greenspun, developer Irwin Molasky, Ghanem's niece Elizabeth Ghanem and local physician Dr. Tony Alamo Jr.
Pallbearers will include Hilton Hotels Chairman Barron Hilton, Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., former two-term Nevada Gov. and Sun Executive Editor Mike O'Callaghan, Mandalay Resort Group President Mike Ensign, Mandalay Vice Chairman Bill Richardson, International Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union President John Wilhelm, longtime Hilton executive Jimmy Newman and local physician Dr. Ted Jacobs.
The Rev. Joseph Anthony, founding pastor of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary, Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral Mass.
