James A. Andrus

James A. Andrus, 65, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 21, 1936, in Gooding, Idaho. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired truck driver and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Reta; four sons, James Andrus Jr. of Leesburg, Ga., Kim Bassett of St. Anthony, Idaho, Evan Bassett of Tillamook, Ore., and Daniel Christoffersen of Monroe, Utah; one daughter, Tanna Bassett, and one brother, Chancey Andrus, both of North Las Vegas; four sisters, Kathleen Kalteich of Las Vegas, Helen Mason of Ontario, Ore., Lily Phillips of White City, Ore., and Hilma Hobson of Vancouver, Wash.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 10 a.m. services Friday in the LDS Civic Center Ward Relief Society Room. Graveside services will follow at noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Robert Alan Bonzoumet

Robert Alan Bonzoumet, 51, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born July 7, 1950, in Trona, Calif. A resident for 30 years, he was a floorman and a veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jaci; his mother, Gladys Bonzoumet of Henderson; two sisters, Susan Baker of Wildomar, Calif., and Annette Ferguson of Ontario, Calif.; two brothers, Larry Bonzoumet of Riverside, Calif., and Chris Bonzoumet of Marino Valley, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to noon services Friday in the LDS chapel, 2091 Wigwam Parkway. Burial will follow in Boulder City Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Helen Carson

Helen Carson, 70, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born May 9, 1931, in Muskogee, Okla. A resident for four years, she was a retired grocery store clerk.

She is survived by three daughters, Sherry Walker and Annette Berg, both of Crescent City, Calif., and Debbie Grenz of Sweet Home, Ore.; two sons, Mark Bigham of Rockwall, Texas, and Paul Bigham of Las Vegas; two stepsons, Bill Carson Jr. of Black Butte, Ore., and Mike Carson of Reno; two stepdaughters, Diane Carson of Los Angeles and Kate Carson of Reston, Va.; one brother, Fred Hanes of Santa Rosa, Calif.; one sister, Frankie Blaylock of Delano, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Joseph L. Cisneros

Joseph L. Cisneros, 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 21, 1924, in the Philippines. A resident for 11 years, he was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Maria L.; two sons, Jesse Cisneros and Martin Cisneros, both of North Carolina; five daughters, Mercy McGregor and Marisa Charette, both of Los Angeles, Remy Mills and Milete, both of St. Louis, and Josine of Washington state; and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services were scheduled at 10 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling arrangements.

Richard D. Cogswell

Richard D. Cogswell, 65, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 23, 1936, in Paoli, Ind. A resident for five years, he was a retired Navy senior chief petty officer and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; one daughter, Kimberly Patterson of Rochester, Ill.; two sons, Andrew Cogswell of Farmer City, Ill., and Jim Cogswell of Las Vegas; one brother, Preston Cogswell of Walkerton, Ind.; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Jeanette Denges, 80, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 18, 1921, in California. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Patti Boekankamp of Henderson; two sisters; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held in Indianapolis. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, handled arrangements.

Allen R. Eckley

Allen R. Eckley, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Newcastle, Wyo. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired Department of Energy real estate specialist for many years and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Nita.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Virginia Lucille Edwards, 72, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born June 15, 1929, in California. A resident for three years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph E.; one son, Joseph D. Edwards of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Toni Deon Fleming

Toni Deon Fleming, 40, of Las Vegas died Aug. 22 in a local hospital. A resident for one year, she was born June 16, 1961, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by two sons, De'Angelo Kyle and Tommy Lewis Sanders, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Dorothy Marie Galluccio, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born July 4, 1935, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired administrative secretary for an accounting firm.

She is survived by two nephews, Michael Galluccio of Middletown, N.J., and Robert Galluccio of Palm Bay, Fla.

Services were scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., handled arrangements.

Sharon Rae Gibson

Sharon Rae Gibson, 64, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Arlington, S.D. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired hotel cocktail waitress.

She is survived by her husband, Kirn C.; two sons, Rolly of Texas and Joseph of Missouri; two daughters, Cynthia and Rebecca, both of Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alfred John Guida

Alfred John Guida, 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 18, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 12 years, he was a private investigator and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie; three sons, Thomas J. Guida of Staten Island, N.Y., and Alfred S. Guida and Stephen L. Guida, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Jennie Padulano of Brooklyn and Nancy Spar of Tampa Fla.; and five grandchildren.

Phyllis M. Harvey

Phyllis M. Harvey, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 24, 1920, in Mason City, Iowa. A resident for seven years, she owned a fabric business.

She is survived by five daughters, Sharon Marson of Silver Lakes, Calif., Laurel Garcia of Lake Arrowhead, Calif., Phyllis Anderson of Fullerton, Calif., Bobbi Carroll of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Christine Fountain of Redding, Calif.; one son, William J. Anderson of Las Vegas; 21 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Laura Hasson

Laura Hasson, 83, of Las Vegas died Sunday in North Las Vegas. A homemaker, she was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Italy.

She is survived by one son, Albert Hasson of California; one daughter, Vicky Blyother of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

Donald L. Hengst

Donald L. Hengst, 70, of Henderson died Sunday in Las Vegas. Self-employed in aircraft parts, he was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Exeter, Colo.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; three sons, Herbert Allen Worthington of Michigan, Randy Craig Worthington of Colorado and Robert Eric Worthington of California; and six grandchildren.

John 'Toby' Houston

John "Toby" Houston, 50, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a Utah hospital. He was born Feb. 15, 1951, in Pulaski, Tenn. A resident for 32 years, he was a men's clothing businessman and a member of the YMCA.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; three daughters, Angela Houston of Dayton, Ohio, and Caprice Houston-Bey and Mika Houston, both of Las Vegas; six sons, Kenji Houston of New Jersey, Wilson Harding and William Harding, both of Indiana, Joseph M. Harding of San Mateo, Calif., Marrio Harding of Indianapolis and Chris Harding of Des Moines, Iowa; his mother, Ann Harding of Indianapolis; four sisters, Karen Cottrell and Marguerite Maddox, both of Indianapolis and Ladye Johnson and Victoria Maddox, both of Pulaski, Tenn.; his caregiver, Haley Houston of Des Moines; and two grandchildren.

Laura Hutchins, 92, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 12, 1909, in Gainesville, Ga.

She is survived by one foster son, Ricky Jenkins; and one brother, Paul Jones of Philadelphia.

Anna M. Jason

Anna M. Jason, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1928, in Wichita, Kan. A resident for 20 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Ron Jason and Dennis Jason, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

James Stewart Kayser Jr., 49, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 5, 1952, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a retired truck driver and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his father, James Stewart Kayser Sr. of Tucson, Ariz.; his mother, Beverly J. Fitzgerald of Las Vegas; three brothers, Walters James Kayser, Robert William Kayser and Earl Joseph Kayser III; and one sister, Evelyn Joyce Kayser.

Services will be 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Thomas J. Kopaz Sr.

Thomas J. Kopaz Sr., 66, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 29, 1934, in Philadelphia. A resident for 12 years, he was an environmental engineer for 14 years, a member of Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge 1924.

He is survived by five sons, Thomas J. Kopaz Jr. of Las Vegas, Joseph I. Kopaz, Patrick J. Kopaz and Martin B. Kopaz, all of New Jersey, and Robert C. Kopaz of California; and 10 grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday in the Moose Lodge, 1538 N. Boulder Highway. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Allan Clark May, 59, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 16, 1942, in Pen Argyl, Pa. A resident for 12 years, he was a procurement administrator retired from Northrup Aircraft and then worked for Nellis Cab Co.

He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth; three daughters, Elisabeth Murphy and Caroline Jones, both of Las Vegas and Jackie Willi of Wisconsin; his mother, Genevieve May, and one brother, Dennis May, both of Las Vegas; and six grandchildren.

John F. Mitchell

John F. Mitchell, 85, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 30, 1916, in Portland, Ore. A resident for 2 1/2 years, he was a retired Army colonel and World War II and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A.; one daughter, Janice Elaine Mitchell, and one son, David John Mitchell, both of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Robyn Lewis and Renee Knoblauch, both of Henderson, and Donyce Moore of Kansas City, Kan.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Climmie Smith, 86, of North Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Rayville, La. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by three sons, Jimmie Lee Smith and Jerry Robertson Jones, both of North Las Vegas, and Monroe Jones of Las Vegas; one brother, Albert Jackson, and one sister, Emma Montgomery, both of Monroe, La.; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Jimmy Job Valadez, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in North Las Vegas. He was born March 11, 1922, in New Castle, Texas. A resident for 14 years, he was a Southern California contractor for 33 years building churches, a Christian school and several celebrity homes.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Peggy Smith of Manville, N.J., and Esther Valadez of Buena Park, Calif.; one son, Jonathon Valadez of San Clemente, Calif.; one brother, Tony Valadez of Miami; and five grandchildren.

Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is arranging private services. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Pamelia Ruth Vatrano

Pamelia Ruth Vatrano, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 28, 1937, in Canada. A resident for 14 years, she was a poker dealer.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Lewis, Teresa Vatrano and Loren Vatrano, all of Las Vegas; one son, William Vatrano, and one sister, Elaine Marie Foster, both of Massachusetts; and one brother, Richard Steeves of Illinois.

Vera May Wagner

Vera May Wagner, 89, of Pahrump died Monday in Pahrump. She was born May 7, 1912, in Illinois. A resident for 21 years, she was a homemaker and a member of Silver Tappers.

She is survived by one daughter, Pauline Hatcher of Pahrump; and two grandchildren.

Robert Whitehead

Robert Whitehead, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 15, 1923, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 12 years, he was a traffic patrolman for the city of Las Vegas, a member of CAT and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one niece, Jennifer Harris of Pahrump; one stepson, Lee Smartback, and one stepdaughter, Karen Smartback, both of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
