Mission Industries loses bid to rein in competitor

Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001 | 10:58 a.m.

A Clark County District judge on Monday rejected a request by Mission Industries Inc., Las Vegas's largest industrial and commercial laundry service, to stop a rival from soliciting Mission's clients.

Mission Industries, which said it has multi-year contracts with about 15 hotel-casinos in Las Vegas, sued Brady Linen Services LLC earlier this month, alleging it lost clients after Brady defamed its services and solicited its clients by undercutting Mission's prices.

But Clark County District Judge Ron Parraguirre said during a hearing Monday: "I don't see any contracts have been breached or any inducements made to breach the contracts. Therefore the application for preliminary injunction is denied."
