Stanley E. Bailey
Stanley E. Bailey, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday. He was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Washington. A resident for 16 years, he was an Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Zelma; five sons, Gary, George, Wayne, Jimmy and Stanley; two daughters, Gayla and Judy; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private services.
Darlene Briscoe
Darlene Briscoe, 71, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born June 24, 1930, in San Diego. A resident for 68 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Briscoe and Darna Frank; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling private family services.
Lela L. Buchholz
Lela L. Buchholz, 89, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 28, 1912, in Des Arc, Ark. A resident for 50 years, she was a homemaker, a member of the Moose and the AEC Retiree's Club.
She is survived by three daughters, Norma Lou Cygan of Salem, Ore., and Marie McCaughey and Betty Balluff, both of Las Vegas; four sons, Dale Carr of Fallon, Jerry Buchholz of Anoka, Minn., and Donald Carr and Alan Buchholz, both of Las Vegas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests contributions to the donor's favorite charity.
Paul Cau
Paul Cau, 85, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born June 16, 1916, in France. A resident for more than 50 years, he was a retired hotel butcher and a World War II veteran of the French army.
He is survived by one brother, Maurice Cau of Parowan, Utah; one niece, Laura Cau Rich of Las Vegas; and two nephews, Danny Cau of Las Vegas and Edward Cau of Denver.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.
Jose Cordova-Ramos
Jose Cordova-Ramos, 66, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 28, 1934.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Rose Ann DeCara
Rose Ann DeCara, 82, of Las Vegas died Aug. 1 in Las Vegas. She was born May 14, 1919, in Phoenix, W.Va. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Louis; five daughters, Diane Hudler of Seattle, Janet Keys of Scottsdale, Ariz., Rosalie Tatalone of Las Vegas, Charlene Szymanowski of Erie and Marlene Dombrowski of Wattsburg, Pa.; five sisters, Elizabeth Farrell, Jennie Boccio and Virginia Stankiewicz-Dietrich, all of Erie, Rose Asprea of New York state and Frances Parker of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
John Issac DeCou
John Issac DeCou, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 15, 1927, in Dewey, Okla. A resident for 45 years, he was a truck driver for Anderson Dairy for 30 years, drove a truck for Ryder Trucking after retiring and was a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Gibbons of Las Vegas and Jeri Inman of Ava, Mo.; one brother, George DeCou of Las Vegas; one sister, Mary Burdick of Hartsville, Mo.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
William Joseph Firmani
William Joseph Firmani, 60, of Logansport, Ind., died Wednesday in Logansport. He was born March 12, 1941, in Logansport. A former Las Vegas resident for several years, he was an automobile salesman, a casino employee and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Gina Marie Firmani; and one brother, Joseph.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; two daughters, Colleen Holmes of Attleboro, Mass., and Bridget Firmani of Muncie, Ind.; two sons, Tony Firmani of Fishers, Ind., and Christopher Holmes of Lakewood Park, Fla.; one brother, Robert Firmani of Fayetteville, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
Marocco Funeral Home, Logansport, is handling arrangements.
Morton R. Galane
Morton R. Galane, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. An attorney, he was born March 15, 1926, in the Bronx, N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Suzanne Duvall of Bethesda, Md., and Susan Gold of Boulder, Colo.; and one son, Jon Galane of Las Vegas.
Services were scheduled at 2:30 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., followed by burial in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, handled arrangements.

Edward Gene Jones
Edward Gene Jones, 62, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 31, 1938, in Gilmore, Texas. A resident for 32 years, he was a taxicab driver for Ace Cab for 26 years.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria M.; three sons, Phillip Jones, Brian Jones and Edward Jones Jr., all of Las Vegas; two daughters, Janice LaPoint of Garden Grove, Calif., and Debora Jones of Las Vegas; one brother, Charles Jones of Marshall, Texas, and Linda Dykes of Logansport, La.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Graveside services were scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Aaron Lugo and Liborio Lugo Jr.
Aaron Lugo, 3 months, and Liborio Lugo Jr., 4, both of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. Aaron was born May 17, 2001, in Las Vegas and Liborio was born Aug. 6, 1997, in Homestead, Fla. The family were Las Vegas residents for one year.
They are survived their father, Liborio Lugo of Texas; their mother, Julito Lizaso, three brothers, Adan Lugo, Ignacio Lugo and Thomas Padron, and one sister, Marianita Lizaso, all of Las Vegas; and their grandparents, Theresa Palacios and Gregorio Lizaso, both of Las Vegas and Palacida Resendes Lugo of Mexico.
Services were scheduled at noon today in St. Christopher's Catholic Church, 1840 N. Bruce St., followed by burial in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Mary McConnell
Mary McConnell, 49, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 29, 1951, in Kalamazoo, Mich. A resident for 10 years, she was a hospital registered nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Ray; two stepdaughters, Kathleen Marcus and Karen Williams, both of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Carl Durbin of Dayton, Ohio, and Steve Durbin of Buffalo, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

David Morris
David Morris, 63, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local health care center. He was born Sept. 13, 1937, in London. A resident for seven years, he was a real estate broker.
He is survived by his wife, Rayna.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Sunday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Helene Patton
Helene Patton, 55, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Los Angeles. She was born April 8, 1946, in Baltimore. A resident for three years, she was a retired medical supervisor.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel; three daughters, Deborah Simpson of Carson, Calif., Phyllis Talbert of Las Vegas and Neichelle Nelson of San Diego; one son, Michael Patton of Los Angeles; one brother, Kenneth Morris of Baltimore; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
Jacob W. Sanders Jr.
Jacob W. Sanders Jr., 77, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Louisiana. A resident for 29 years, he was a casino maintenance worker and a Navy veteran.
He is survived by one brother, Herman Maxwell.

Manuela 'Ester' Soler
Manuela "Ester" Soler, 90, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born Aug. 9, 1911, in Havana. A resident for 27 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Maria Alamo of Henderson; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will continue until a 7 p.m. rosary today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9 a.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
