Intersection drive to help school kids
The North Las Vegas Police Officers Association will hold an intersection fund-raising drive Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to benefit schoolchildren.
Police officers and volunteers will collect donations at various intersections in North Las Vegas. Volunteers can still help by reporting to the base of operations at North Mesa Plaza, 1801 W. Craig Road. For more information, call Officer Gomez, 649-9444.
Program scheduled Saturday at museum
The Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund will present "Elvis Night" 9 p.m. Saturday at the Elvis-A-Rama Museum, 3401 Industrial Road.
The program will feature Arizona state Rep. Steve May, who is well-known for his triumph over the U.S. military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased online (www.victoryfund.org) or by contacting events@victoryfund.org.

Framing contractors nail down event
The Framing Contractors Association, a nonprofit affiliate of the Associated General Contractors, will host a golf tournament Saturday, beginning at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at the Angel Park Golf Club, 100 S. Rampart Blvd.

Bowl-a-thon set at Suncoast Saturday
The Community Association Institute, a nonprofit organization representing more than 17,000 homeowners associations and millions of homeowners, will hold a "Bowl-a-Thon" noon Saturday at the Suncoast hotel to benefit Habitat for Humanity.
The institute hopes to raise $10,000, and the proceeds from the tournament will be split between Habitat for Humanity and the Community Association Institute Scholarship Fund.

Air Force show free at Cashman
The Air Force Tops in Blue will appear at Cashman Center, 850 Las Vegas Blvd. North, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for a free performance.
Tops in Blue is an annual worldwide Air Force talent contest featuring airmen in various categories ranging from comedy, drama, vocals, gospel and instrumental.

National parks waive entrance fees for a day
In honor of the National Park Service's 85th anniversary, all visitors will be able to enter Zion National Park, Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Grand Canyon National Park, free on Saturday.
The annual fee-free day was created in 1988 when Congress authorized the Park Service to designate one day each year to waive fees.
