A new Southern style saloon patterned after the Hollywood movie "Coyote Ugly" is scheduled to open at New York-New York hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip in mid-October, a hotel spokeswoman said.
The Coyote Ugly bar will replace the New York-New York Lounge, located near the bridge at the main entry of the resort.
The bar, being developed by Above the Bar LLC, will feature "hot female bartenders" performing choreographed dance numbers, stunts and bold shows like fire blowing and body shots, Above the Bar said.
Above the Bar partners include Jennifer Worthington, an associate producer of the "Coyote Ugly" film; Robert Frey, a Las Vegas retail operator; and Marcelle Abraham, a former marketing director for Walt Disney Co. and Dreamworks SKG.
Frey said Coyote Ugly plans to hire a staff of 50 people.
Coyote Ugly also plans to host themed and major sporting events as well as live bands on a regular basis.
