Las Vegas mayor gets two new assistants

The city of Las Vegas has added two new positions to the government payroll. Both employees started work this week as special assistants to Mayor Oscar Goodman.
The two positions will draw a combined salary of $79,749 plus benefits.
Cynthia Dunn and Elena Perez will respond to public inquiries of the mayor and conduct research for him.
Dunn worked seven months for the Clark County Election Department beginning in February. Before that, she worked five years as news coordinator for KLAS Channel 8. She will earn $42,500 a year plus benefits.
Perez worked as a public affairs coordinator for R&R Partners and has served as an adviser to the mayor. She will earn $37,249 a year plus benefits.
Dunn and Perez have bachelor's degrees in communications from University of Wyoming and UNLV, respectively.
