Healing through poetry is offered
The Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence of St. Rose Dominican Hospital, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite 300 is offering a Healing Through Poetry Therapy class from 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday.
Author of 144 poetry books, Jan Crandall will teach students how to focus on positive thinking and relaxed feelings through reading and writing a positive, healing based form of poetry. Call 616-4900.
Pine Creek Trail hike is scheduled
Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes and walks free of charge, but reservations are required for all programs, which begin at the Visitors Center. To make reservations or for information call 363-1922. Some upcoming programs:
Discover Pine Creek: Ages 12 to adult are welcome to hike along the Pine Creek trail, Thursday, and watch for signs of desert life.
Ash Springs Hike: Ages 12 to adult can enjoy the colorful red sandstone formations and watch for desert wildlife on this moderate two mile hike Friday.
