LV builder settles with condo owners

Ironwood Homeowners Association has reached a $1.9 million settlement in a construction defect lawsuit it filed in 1999 against developer Robert V. Jones Corp.
The association had sued Ironwood Condominiums Ltd. Partnership and Robert V. Jones, alleging defects in its 114-unit condominium project at 8300 Apple Glaze Ave., located in western Las Vegas near the intersection of Durango Drive and Summerlin Parkway.
James Pengilly, Robert V. Jones' attorney, described the settlement as a "fair compromise of both positions." He said Ironwood wanted more than $5 million initially including attorneys' fees and costs. "Ironwood retained expert consultants in every imaginable field and alleged problems from top to bottom. But we think very little is wrong and were (initially) offering about $1 million."
