MGM MIRAGE has joined the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility, a coalition of national Hispanic organizations.
The Las Vegas-based casino operator is the first company from the hotel, entertainment and gaming sector to join the organization as a corporate member, HACR said.
"We are excited about this new partnership to create strategic alliances that will maximize economic opportunities for MGM MIRAGE and the Hispanic community," said Anna Escobedo Cabral, HACR president and chief executive.
HACR's mission is to "ensure there is an equitable participation of the Hispanic community in corporate America commensurate with Hispanic purchasing power," in the areas of corporate governance, employment, philanthropy and procurement.
Corporate partners and members include such companies as DaimlerChrysler, Ford Motor Co., McDonald's Corp., General Motors, American Airlines, Bank of America, Coca-Cola Co., IBM, Philip Morris, Texaco and Wal-Mart.
