Letter: Those in power can evade justice
Friday, Aug. 17, 2001 | 10:05 a.m.
Relative to the Congressman Gary Condit investigation: It is absolutely incredulous that the police suggest the congressman is not a suspect. First a denial, then an admission of an intimate affair. No politics here, of course!
Condit may be innocent, but to say he is not a suspect is to say O.J. Simpson is as pure as the driven snow. There are numerous examples of influential and wealthy persons circumventing the law.
What's that cliche -- "American justice is as good as gold, those with the gold get the justice."
