A collective bargaining agreement has been ratified by members of Teamsters Local 631 with two major contractors serving the Las Vegas convention industry.
Ed Burke, international trustee for the union, said the three-year agreement, which covers about 1,800 Las Vegas employees working with Freeman Decorating Co. and GES Exposition Services, was approved in a 721-356 vote.
The new contract, negotiated through April, replaces a prior agreement that expired May 31. There were no work stoppages during the negotiations.
The agreement covers work at all major Las Vegas convention venues. Burke declined to reveal terms of the agreement, including the wages it specifies.
