John Michael Armstrong

John Michael Armstrong, 57, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born March 14, 1944, in Bedford, Ind. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired banker and a Vietnam War Marine Corps veteran who received a Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; two daughters, Leigh Armstrong-Hebard and Katherine St. John Armstrong, both of Boston; and one stepson, Thomas Picton Warlow IV of Orlando, Fla.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Gary M. Brown

Gary M. Brown, 65, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 11, 1935, in Garden Grove, Calif. A resident for 26 years, he was a carpenter and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Sandra Brown of North Las Vegas; one son, Leonard Brown of Las Vegas; two brothers, Jayson Brown of North Las Vegas and Robert Brown of Las Vegas; and two sisters, Clarice McLaughlin of California and Janice Jensen of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be private.

Celeste Anne Legnini Cartwright

Celeste Anne Legnini Cartwright, 70, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born May 19, 1931, in Havertown, Pa. A resident for 10 years, she was a retired executive secretary in the movie industry.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Ray Cartwright; three brothers, Hugo Legnini of Ashland, Pa., Meric Legnini of Potomac, Md., and Rom Legnini of Havertown, Pa.; and two sisters, Yolanda Codding of Boulder, Colo., and Olga Morris of Havertown.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 3 p.m. services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. A memorial dinner will follow.

Clarence Davis

Clarence Davis, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 30, 1912, in Maryville, Kan. A resident for six years, he was a pipe fitter and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, June Colleen Jarecki of Boulder City; and one sister, Lucille Marquardt of Maryville, Kan.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Penny Dee Dillon

Penny Dee Dillon, 37, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 17, 1963, in Ohio. A resident for six months, she was a proprietor in the service industry.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley; and her parents, Dale and Shirley Dennis of Middlebury Heights, Ohio.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Cleveland. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Richard Ray Errett

Richard Ray Errett, 49, of Henderson died Monday in Henderson. He was born Dec. 30, 1951, in Elmira, N.Y. A resident for 10 years, he was a sales manager at Wheeler's R.V.

He is survived by his friend, Judy Bianchi of Henderson; one daughter, Jessica Errett of Littleton, Colo.; and one brother, Edward Errett of Georgia.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Catherine Edith Fagan

Catherine Edith Fagan, 79, of Pahrump and Las Vegas died Monday in Henderson. A resident for 12 years, she was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Asbury Park, N.J.

She is survived by five daughters, Faith Porter of Grand Prairie, Texas, Barbara Fagan and Sandra Rupp, both of Bricktown, N.J., and Judith Cobb of Wall Township, N.J.; six sons, James Fagan and Michael Fagan, both of Irvine, Calif., Timothy Fagan and Robert Fagan, both of Las Vegas, Patrick Fagan of Arvada, Calif., and Thomas Fagan of Henderson; four brothers, Francis Cramer of Neptune, N.J., Thomas Cramer of Montclair, Va., Lawrence Cramer of Pennsylvania and Vernon Cramer of Michigan; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Frederick C. Hanmore Sr.

Frederick C. Hanmore Sr., 75, of North Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 16, 1925, in Chicago. A resident for 42 years, he was a retired truck driver, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Boulder City Elks Lodge.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan Snow-Hagberg of Las Vegas; one son, Fred Hanmore Jr. of Henderson; one brother, Robert Hanmore of Biloxi, Miss.; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Joanna Jeannotte

Joanna Jeannotte, 33, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. A sketch artist, she was born Jan. 15, 1968, in Rhode Island.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Violette of Bedford, Mass.

Leonard A. Jeziorski

Leonard A. Jeziorski, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born June 18, 1921, in Detroit. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired wholesale meat cutter and World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He is survived by four sons, Ronald Jeziorski, Kenneth Jeziorski and Joseph Jeziorski, all of Las Vegas, and John Jeziorski of Detroit; two brothers, Clarence Jeziorski and Irwin Jeziorski, both of Detroit; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Exel Jones

Exel Jones, 69, of Henderson died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 50 years, he was a hotel cook.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four daughters, Annie Ruth of Chicago Heights, Ill., Angela of Chicago, Lillian of Las Vegas and Donna of Atlanta; two sons, George of Las Vegas and Wesley of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three brothers, Henry Jones Jr. of Las Vegas and Arthur and Charles Ray Jones, both of California; three sisters, Josephine Amous of Texas, Mary Moore of California and Sherri of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until an 11 a.m. services Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Laconia Jowers

Laconia Jowers, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 27, 1914, in Newport, Alaska. A resident for 56 years, she was a powder room attendant at the former Thunderbird hotel.

She is survived by one daughter, Roma Jean Hunt of North Las Vegas; one brother, Ben Holmes of Wichita, Kan.; seven grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday with a noon service in Bunkers Mortuary Meadow Room, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Roberto Lopez

Roberto Lopez, 37, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 16, 1963, in Mexico City. A resident for 12 years, he was a plumber.

He is survived by his father, Roberto Eduardo Lopez Davila, and his mother, Maria de la Luz leija Zamora, both of Mexico City; three brothers, Rafael Lopez Leija and Jose Guadalupe Lopea Leija, both of Mexico City and Miguel Angel Lopez Leija of Las Vegas; three sisters, Delia Lopez Leija of San Francisco, Matilde Lopez Leija of Mexico City and Martha Delgadillo of Las Vegas; and his companion, Samuel Diaz of Las Vegas.

Burial will be in Mexico City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Charles W. Magill III

Charles W. Magill III, 47, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. A resident for 14 years, he was born June 26, 1954, in Florida.

He is survived by one brother, David Magill; and one sister, Cynthia Martinez.

Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Randall Clark Mahe

Randall Clark Mahe, 53, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1947, in Monterey, Calif. A resident for 11 years, he was a carpenter in the construction of new homes.

He is survived by two daughters, Randi Eves and Ciarra Mahe, one son, Jason Mahe, and his mother, Beverly Barnier, all of Las Vegas; and one sister, Pam Lathom of Palmdale, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Kate Marcuse

Kate Marcuse, 92, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 3, 1909, in Germany. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Hank Marcuse of Las Vegas.

Arturo Martinez Sr.

Arturo Martinez Sr., 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born April 26, 1921, in Mexico. A resident for five years, he was a retired automobile salesman.

He is survived by three daughters, Rosemary Martinez of Brea, Calif., Ophelia Espinosa of Johnstown, Colo., and Alice Martinez of Chicago; four sons, Arturo Martinez Jr. of Las Vegas, Miguel Angel Martinez of Henderson, Jessie Martinez of Madison, Wis., and Arthur Martinez of Chicago; one sister, Ermelinda Martinez of Chicago; one brother, Rafael Martinez of Houston; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church, 3050 Alta Drive. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Raymond McIntire

Raymond McIntire, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born May 28, 1915, in Scandia, Iowa. A resident for one year, he retired as a Navy chief petty officer after 24 years, was a World War II and Korean War veteran, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars 1852 and Moose Lodge Post 3787 in San Diego.

He is survived by four daughters, Carolyn McIntire and Donna Hager, both of Las Vegas, and Barbara Smith and Marsha Smith, both of San Diego; one son, Gerald McIntire of Las Vegas; one sister, Irene Duncan of Roswell, N.M.; his ex-wife, Fredia McIntire of Las Vegas; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Gladys Oliver

Gladys Oliver, 86, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local convalescent hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Madison Township, Ohio. A resident for 23 years, she was a retired beauty shop owner.

She is survived by two daughters, Denise Oliver of Topeka, Kan., and Carol Rumbolz of Las Vegas.

Graveside services were scheduled at 9 a.m. today in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Chris Lewis Peters

Chris Lewis Peters, 90, of Las Vegas died Aug. 2 in a local hospital. He was born April 27, 1911, in Yugoslavia. A resident for 21 years, he was a cook at a delicatessen.

He is survived by his caregiver, Mary J. Jones of Las Vegas.

Mildred Pierson

Mildred Pierson, 97, of Boulder City died Monday in Boulder City. She was born Sept. 1, 1903, in Salt Lake City. A resident for many years, she was a retail store buyer.

She is survived by one daughter, Lorraine Cromar of Henderson.

Christopher Edwin Pyne, 27, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 20, 1974. A lifelong resident, he was a Bonanza High School graduate.

He is survived by his parents, Cordell and Bernice Pyne, one brother, Kevin Pyne, and three sisters, Tina Theresia Lewis, Lisa Alaine Consentine and Anita Sue Hamilton, all of Las Vegas.

Dona L. Stanford, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, J.T.; one son, Thomas Gene Stanford, and two daughters, Virginia Kemp and Helene Laatikainen, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Richard Lujan of Oklahoma and William Cunnington of Albuquerque; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Margaret Alice Swift

Margaret Alice Swift, 87, of Henderson died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 15, 1913, in Ottawa, Ill. A resident for 59 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Swift McCullough of Las Vegas and Nancy Swift Wertsbaugh of Henderson; two stepsons, Elwood D. Swift Jr. of Ottawa, and Charles O. Swift of Henderson; one sister, Ruth Robinson of Ottawa; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Theresa Marie Thompson

Theresa Marie Thompson, 45, of Las Vegas died Sunday. She was born Dec. 27, 1955, in Nagoya, Japan. A resident for six years, she was a New York-New York showroom reservationist and a Clark High School graduate.

She is survived by her mother, Frances Thompson of Las Vegas; and one sister, Cheryl Thompson of Lakewood, Calif.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

She is survived by her husband, Elvin.

Joseph Ward

Joseph Ward, 61, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 11, 1939, in Florala, Ala. A resident for 42 years, he was a real estate broker and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his parents, Lynn and Robert Paul, one brother, Jim Ward, and one sister, Faye Jameson, all of Las Vegas.

Patricia Annmarie Wilson, 49, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 22, 1952, in Germany. A resident for 25 years, she was a dealer.

She is survived by her father, Billy Barger; one son, Billy John Barger; one brother, Alfred; one sister, Mary; and two grandchildren.
