Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International sued to stop a former Las Vegas chapter from using its trade name to provide services and conduct trade shows for the hospitality and tourism industry.
The Washington, D.C.-based organization, which said it provides services to hospitality sales and marketing professionals and has 5,000 members in 66 chapters worldwide, sued Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association, Southern Nevada Chapter, in U.S. District Court.
The suit said the defendant, which allegedly lost its license to use the trade name after it was disaffiliated from the organization in 1993, was accused of rebuffing the organization's re-affiliation efforts.
The defendant could not be reached for comment.
