Two companies that constitute a small share of the auto insurance market in Nevada have applied to state Insurance Commissioner Alice Molasky-Arman to boost rates effective in November.
United Services Automobile Association, which writes coverage for 31,854 vehicles in the state, is proposing a 13.6 percent increase to collect an additional $3 million a year.
USAA Casualty Insurance Co. is asking for an 8.2 percent increase for the 19,981 vehicles it covers in Nevada. That would result in $1.4 million additional revenue annually.
