MASH Village expects to open its Emergency Weather Shelter Sept. 1, which is earlier than expected, if it receives $500,000 from the corporate sector and community by Wednesday.
Homeless advocates are challenging the community to raise the additional funds needed to open the homeless shelter by the target date.
Clark County and the United Way of Southern Nevada have contributed $172,000 for the emergency shelter, which is located near Main Street and Owens Avenue.
