Letter: A’s fans are into it
Friday, Aug. 10, 2001 | 10 a.m.
I'm a Northern California native whose first major league baseball game was Oakland vs. the Harmon Killebrew-led Minnesota Twins back in 1968. I've lived in Las Vegas since 1977, and being a longtime A's fan, I was confused by Ron Kantowski's disbelief in the apparent existence of excited Oakland A's fans ("Reports on A's are way off base," Aug. 2).
Trust me Ron, there are thousands of excited Oakland A's fans. We've been around for years, and why wouldn't we be excited with this year's team?
While I usually enjoy reading Kantowski's columns, the snide remark about A's fans left me at a loss. He should save the smart aleck comments for Dodger fans. They are always fair game.
