Defending State Amateur champion Billy Harvey had few problems defending his title on Thursday at the Dayton Valley Country Club in Dayton.
Harvey, a Bonanza High graduate, carded a final-round 66 to win the event by nine strokes. It was Harvey's third round in the 60s and best round of the three-day tournament.
Mark Gilmartin of Reno entered the day five strokes behind Harvey, but didn't make up any ground by shooting a 70. His three-day total of 209 gave him second place.
Henderson resident Joe Sawaia's 6-under-par 65 vaulted him from eighth place to third.
Las Vegan Brady Exber's scores of 71, 71, 73 for a total 215 were enough to put him at fifth.
