The general manager of the Four Queens hotel-casino denied any link to an online poker site promoting the casino's September poker tournament, but said the downtown Las Vegas property will cooperate with state Gaming Control Board investigators.
Ultimatebet.com, an online, for-cash poker site, is holding two satellite tournaments through Aug. 18. The winners of these two satellites will receive buy-ins into the Four Queens Poker Classic, scheduled to be held next month, along with hotel rooms for five nights, according to Ultimatebet.com's website.
"We have no association with Ultimatebet.com," said Philip Madow, president and general manager of the Four Queens. "If you look at the verbiage on the site specifically, much of it can be misconstrued. We are now participating and completely cooperating with any investigation by the Gaming Control Board as a licensee, and we'll continue to do so. Pending the investigation, we have a scheduled tournament we plan on proceeding with."
