Migration services to host kids' event
Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Services is hosting a back-to-school event 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday at Paradise Park, 4770 S. Harrison Drive.
More than 250 children and their families will participate in games, a barbecue, swimming and receive school supplies. Call 383-8387.
Church to host Henderson event
The Central Christian Church for Polar Expedition will host a vacation bible school program.
The event features a specially designed snow park with real snow and is from 6-8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at 1001 New Beginnings Drive, Henderson.

Diane Peterson, a family educator,
will teach "Priorities ... Making the Time," 1:30-2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Barbara Greenspun WomensCare Center of Excellence, 100 N. Green Valley Parkway, Suite No. 330. Steps to restore balance in work and life, money choices, self-care, energy drains, spiritual well being and relationships will be discussed. Call 616-4900.
Mervyn's is hosting its ninth annual ChildSpree
for 65 children from the Boys and Girls Club and Fyfe Elementary School at 7 a.m. Saturday at two Mervyn's stores, 1300 S. Nellis Blvd., and 4700 Meadows Lane.
The inaugural Float Your Boat
contest will be held 11:30 a.m. Sunday at Wet 'n Wild. Thirty contestants will compete in boat races with boats they constructed. Call 730-0344 for more information.
