Kenneth B. Brown
Kenneth B. Brown, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born June 17, 1927, in Maine. A resident for many years, he was a railroad supervisor.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brown of Maine.
No local services are scheduled. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Holly Gwen Carter
Holly Gwen Carter, 34, of North Las Vegas died Monday. She was born Nov. 30, 1966, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, she was a 1995 UNLV graduate and a member of Las Vegas Track Club.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Janet L. and Robert E. Lewis of Vero Beach, Fla.; her father and stepmother, Stephen W. and Nadine Carter, one sister, Dana Marie Carter, and one brother, Tony A. Carter, all of Las Vegas; her fiance, Nicholas Richard Haley of North Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Pauline Marcella Wallace of Lancaster, Calif., and Jean and Jimmie Wallace of Boulder City.
Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the Las Vegas Track Club Scholarship Fund.
Reese Bronson Cooke
Reese Bronson Cooke, 74, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local health care center. He was born Nov. 13, 1926, in Denver. A resident for eight years, he was a retired executive pilot, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Airplane Owners & Pilots Association.
He is survived by his wife, Winifred Mary; one daughter, Debbie D. Turvey of Eugene, Ore.; two sons, Stephen M. Cooke of Carson City and Scott P. Cooke of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

Faye Cooper
Faye Cooper, 84, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 18, 1916, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 55 years, she was a secretary for the convention center.
She is survived by one son, Glenn Cooper Jr. of Las Vegas; and one sister, Lillian Salstein of Miami Beach.
American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane, is handling private arrangements.

Curtis C. Cramer
Curtis C. Cramer, 54, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 25, 1946, in St. Paul, Minn. A resident for six years, he was a retired Army master sergeant and Vietnam War veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Christina Powell of Las Vegas.
Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Larry DiMario
Larry DiMario, 60, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born Sept. 15, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio. A resident for 36 years, he was a floorman at the Flamingo hotel, a Korean War Army veteran, a member of Black Mountain Country Club and American Motorcyle Association.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; three daughters, Louise Lucci of California, Gail Connors of North Las Vegas and Beverley Wallace of Henderson; one brother, Sam DiMario of Toledo; one sister, Toni Villarreal of Waterville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 3-6 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday in First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. A private burial will follow.
Joseph John Eschbach
Joseph John Eschbach, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born June 26, 1915, in New York City. A resident for four years, he was a retired butcher.
He is survived by one son, George Eschbach of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled 3-5 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Albert E. Fanning
Albert E. Fanning, 82, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospice. He was born Dec. 21, 1918, in Hamden, Conn. A resident for 30 years, he was a retired rate analyst for a trucking company and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Roseanne; three daughters, Traci Fanning Parlor of Corona, Calif., Jodie Fanning Johnson of Southbury, Conn., and Laura Lawhon of Woodbury, Conn.; two sons, Albert S. Fanning of Westhaven, Conn., and Peter Horelick of Southbury; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at 1881 W. Alexander Road. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Eugene Richard Fern
Eugene Richard Fern, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Dunkirk, N.Y. A resident for 45 years, he was a carpenter, who worked on the construction of many hotels, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Carpenters Local 1780.
He is survived by four daughters, Gale Kearley of Florence, Ala., Margie Beard of Eastaboga, Ala., and Zondra Smock and Sharrie Perry, both of Las Vegas; two sisters, Loretta Holdridge of Randolph, N.Y., and Lillian Meiers of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 5-8 p.m. today in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens.
Velma E. Field
Velma E. Field, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born June 2, 1917, in Nebraska. A resident for 34 years, she was self-employed in the custom drapery industry.
She is survived by two daughters, Loya Larson of Las Vegas and Pamela Lynn Carrillo of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Dorothy Jeter of McMinnville, Ore.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Frank P. Giordano
Frank P. Giordano, 64, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 22, 1936, in Illinois. A resident for many years, he was a salesman.
He is survived by one daughter, Karen Pijut of Henderson.

Carl E. Hancke
Carl E. Hancke, 67, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 30, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a civil service electrical engineer, a Korean War Army veteran, a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and Zelzah Shrine Temple, a former member of Daylite Masonic Lodge 44 and an associate member of the Jewish War Veterans.
He is survived by one brother, Peter Hancke of Fairfax, Va.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
The family suggests donations to Daylite Rainbow Association 22 or Daylite Masonic Lodge 44.
Harold Mondt
Harold Mondt, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Chicago. A resident for more than 30 years, he was a visual displayer and an Army veteran.
He is survived by friends and family at the Metropolitan Community Church.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. at the Metropolitan Community Church of Las Vegas, 1140 Almond Tree Lane, No. 301. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Cleon 'Ned' Nedrow
Cleon "Ned" Nedrow, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday. He was born Nov. 1, 1924, in Ashton, Idaho. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired accounting supervisor for the federal government, a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Ancient Order of the Deep.
He is survived by his wife, Bette Jean; one daughter, Peggy Barron of Las Vegas; one son, Ron Nedrow of Henderson; two stepbrothers; one stepsister; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Jose Antonio Torres Nieves
Jose Antonio Torres Nieves, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born March 18, 1931, in Cuba. A resident for seven years, he was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Rubinelda; two daughters, Blanca Torres of Cuba and Debora Torres of Las Vegas; one son, Eliazar Torres, four sisters, Maria Torres, Elo Torres, Dolores Torres and Gladys Torres, and two brothers, Fidel Torres and Osmundi Torres, all of Cuba; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-noon Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Shane Orr, 8, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 29, 1992, in Payson, Utah. He was a resident for two years.
He is survived by his parents, Lisa and Ken Orr, and one brother, John Orr, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Jim and Carol Orr of Brightwood, Ore., and Joan Shuck of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Friday in the LDS Southpoint Ward Relief Society Room. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Christine Patten-Williams, 37, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1964, in Los Angeles. A resident for 17 years, she was a hotel cocktail waitress.
She is survived by one son, B.J. Williams of Las Vegas; her father, Herbert Patten, three brothers, Kenneth Patten, Wilton Patten and Nelson Patten, and three sisters, Georgia Goff, Audrey Patten and Willa Mae Patten, all of Los Angeles; and her grandmother, Estelle Williams of Belize.
Visitation is scheduled 2-8 p.m. Friday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in American Burial and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.
Joel David Perley
Joel David Perley, 44, of Las Vegas died Sunday. An electrician, he was born Sept. 27, 1956, in California.
He is survived by one son, Josh Perley, and one daughter, Amie Drake, both of Riverside, Calif.

Mildred A. Smith
Mildred A. Smith, 55, of Las Vegas died July 28 in Las Vegas. A resident for seven years, she was born Feb. 28, 1946, in Gibbson, La.
She is survived by four sons, Charles Smith Sr. of North Las Vegas, Victor Smith Sr. of Las Vegas, Richard Smith of Norman, Okla., and De'Shawn Smith of Texas; one daughter, Theresia Smith of Adelanto, Calif.; her mother, Daisy Wilson of San Bernardino, Calif.; and 27 grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at 9:30 a.m. today in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.
Ethel A. Thompson
Ethel A. Thompson, 85, of Pioche died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 3, 1916, in Pennsylvania. A resident for many years, she was a retired bus driver for Clark County.
She is survived by one son, Charles Adams of Pioche; one sister, Marie of Colorado; one brother, Raymond of Georgia; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to 2 p.m. services today in the Berean Baptist Church of Pioche, followed by burial in Conaway Veterans Cemetery, Caliente. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Kathryn L. Pendergrass Tindle
Kathryn L. Pendergrass Tindle, 64, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 25, 1937, in Dallas. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jo Tindle of Las Vegas and Elizabeth Ludeanne Tindle Guenther of Deaver, Wyo.; two sons, William L. Tindle of El Cajon, Calif., Wesley Drake Tindle of Las Vegas; her mother, Kathryn Alma Fernald, and one sister, Elizabeth Blottin, both of El Cajon; two brothers, John Pendergrass of San Diego and Ed Pendergrass of El Cajon; and 15 grandchildren.

Maura Vaquero Tinoco, 75, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 14, 1926, in Honduras. A resident for six months, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by five sons, Alejandro Menendez, Oscar Menendez, Marco Polo Menendez, Robert Menendez and Hector Menendez; one daughter, Celenia Blas; and one brother, Saul Vaquero.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Willard B. Upright Jr.
Willard B. Upright Jr., 77, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 1, 1924, in Phoebus, Va. A resident for 20 years, he was a Clark County Fire Department firefighter and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Vicki A. Wood of North Las Vegas and Linda S. Snedden of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; one son, David J. Upright of Ogden, Kan.; one brother, Richard L. Upright Sr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.

Dorothy J. Vasaitis, 72, of Boulder City died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in McCook, Ill. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, John L. Sr.; one daughter, Lisa M. Freer of Cicero, Ill.; two sons, Ronald Vasaitis of Tinley Park, Ill., and John L. Vasaitis Jr. of Cicero; two sisters, Vilma Giovanetti of Henderson and Bernice Versace of Lakewood, Calif.; one brother, Sam Pelligrini of Parker, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.

Christy Ann Wahl, 21, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was born Dec. 9, 1979, in West Covina, Calif. A resident for eight years, she was a medical receptionist.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Sonny; one daughter, Kylie Dale Wahl, her parents, Cathy Ann and Rodger Bryan Hinds, two brothers, Chad Abercrombie and Matthew Wells, all of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Millie and Donald Macluso and Emma Hinds.
