Firefighters send children to camp
The Clark County Firefighters Burn Foundation will be flying two young burn survivors from Nevada to summer camp in Lake Tahoe.
Alexis and Alvin are being welcomed by Firefighters Kids Camp to spend a week away from their normal surroundings.
Contractor named to board of directors
Steve Chartrand, president and chief executive officer of Goodwill of Southern Nevada Inc., announced that Ross Burnett, principal/construction manager of Burnett Haase Construction, has been appointed to the advisory board of directors.

Organization grants charter to Nevada
The National Concierge Association, a nonprofit professional organization, recently granted a charter for the formation of a Nevada chapter, which will promote the NCA's networking, educational, and promotional opportunities to concierge professionals in Nevada.

Salvation Army helping students
The Salvation Army of Henderson's Back to School Project, running now through Sunday at the Galleria at Sunset, is designed to provide new clothes for children of families who are not financially able to provide the items for the start of the school year.
The first names and sizes of children are transferred to "Pencil Cards" and are displayed on school houses at the Galleria at Sunset mall. For more information, call 565-9578.
Councilman Larry Brown
made it possible for the children of the Shade Tree Shelter to go swimming on a weekly basis at the municipal pool, but the kids need swimsuits. The public can bring new bathing suits to the Shade Tree Shelter at Owens Avenue and Main Street or drop them off at the front desk at any one of the Station Casinos properties now through Wednesday.
